Angostura Aromatic Bitters
“A cocktail cabinet without Angostura is like a kitchen without salt and pepper.” ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters adds a layer of complexity, intensifies the flavor of other ingredients, counteracts the harshness of acidic contents and decreases the harshness of spirits. But it doesn’t stop there – it also helps cleanse the palate and aid in digestion. Ever had an Old Fashioned, Manhattan, Pink Gin or Mai Tai? Then you’ve experienced ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters. It’s the can’t-miss bottle behind the bar, featuring an over-sized label and distinct yellow cap.

Bitters are to a cocktail as salt is to soup. Angostura Aromatic Bitters is a highly concentrated food and beverage flavoring. Made from a secret formula, it is a unique blend of natural herbs and spices which is used to flavor a wide variety of foods and drinks. The "secret" was developed in 1824 by Dr. J.G.B. Siegert, a Surgeon General in Simon Bolivar's army in Venezuela. He used his aromatic bitters to improve appetite and digestive well-being of the soldiers. The word "Angostura" came from the town of that name in Venezuela where Dr. Siegert was based. For more great brands and flavors, check out our complete selection of cocktail bitters!
