In this animated adventure comedy, The Angry Birds Movie, we finally find out why the birds are so angry. The movie takes us to an island populated entirely by happy, flightless birds – or almost entirely. In this paradise, Red, a bird with a temper problem, speedy Chuck, and the volatile Bomb have always been outsiders. But when the island is visited by mysterious green piggies, it’s up to these unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to
Meet the Angry Birds and their friends
Red is an angry bird. He lives on Bird Island, a world populated with the most naively happy characters imaginable – so, needless to say, Red doesn't fit in. The birds' cheery, carefree lives are in stark contrast to Red's own: he has few friends, can’t hold down a job thanks to his uncontrollable temper and lives alone on the outskirts of town. On top of this, he’s missing the basic social skills needed to fully connect with others. Aware that he is different from everyone else, he tries to mask his discomfort with a sarcastic and aloof attitude, which only serves to estrange him further. What he really wants, but doesn’t know yet, is a sense of acceptance. Red isn’t afraid to ask the difficult questions, pushing where others are reluctant to push.
Everything about Chuck is speedy. He thinks fast, talks fast and moves even faster. He zips around the island in a flash. Chuck speaks with a high-pitched voice that lacks a filtering mechanism – so you never know just what will come out. His frenetic energy has him jumping from one thought to the next without waiting for anyone to catch up. Chuck is impulsive and mercurial, and intent on having friends.
He's the only bird on the island diagnosed with IED (Intermittent Explosive Disorder), which causes him to literally explode when surprised or stressed. He's determined to gain control of his IED, but still has a long way to go. Because of his unpredictable and explosive power, Bomb is a much more cautious bird than the others, with a slow and ponderous way of speaking.
Leonard is the charming and charismatic spokesman for all of the pigs. A combination of an international ambassador and a travelling salesman/huckster, Leonard immediately wins over the birds with his folksy, warm personality. He speaks with sincerity and enthusiasm as he gives naïve and trusting birds his many gifts from Piggy Island.. They are blown away by his showmanship and fully welcome the pigs into their community. However, we begin to detect some chilly cracks beneath Leonard’s over-sized, diplomatic grin. Leonard is smarter than he looks, and this friendliness could be a ruse for a deeper, darker plan.

The production team couldn't have chosen a better cast for the voice of each character. It just fit so well.
I was happy with the unexpected digital version of the movie. I thought the movie was actually good, better than I expected based on a mobile phone game. The game is a little silly but fun, kind of like this movie. There are definitely jokes in there for the parents which kids won’t get and I appreciate that. I just thought the scene where they actually enacted out the game seemed awkwardly forced into the movie. As was the entire presence of the slingshot. Some parts of the game fit well into the movie, like the different traits/personalities of the different birds. I just wish they based the movie on the video game but I would have preferred them not literally having the birds being slingshot to knock over things.
I mean it's the angry birds right?? Yet I have kids who are into them so we bought the movie in SD format I really can't seem to notice the difference from SD to HD quality as the SD plays super clear on the 40" screen compared to our other videos that are HD format
Besides that I really enjoy this movie, it was very comical and had a lot of adult humor yet was family friendly
My kids loved the movie too and we have seen it now a handful of times and it never gets old
Chuck the yellow bird is soo funny and Red soo serious and don't forget Bomb :)
I won't spoil the movie for you
If you haven't seen the movie make it a family night and watch it, it's a great video for everyone who's looking for a good laugh

The movie has stood up to repeat viewings by the children (8 & 10) who enjoy the more tasteless gags - and who can blame them!
There are far more sophisticated children's films to watch so this one will appeal to anyone who isn't looking for anything deep and meaningful.
Good story line and was consistently funny throughout the movie. I must admit though some of the references to things in the movie I did not expect to see there.....
