With a busy life and a teenage son to care for, Luna feels overwhelmed. An opportunity comes when her son is away for the summer and she meets Adam. Adam has his own baggage and finds himself a bit angry all the time. With both needing and wanting each other, they also find release with each other.
I love the cover and the title of this book. I have to admit, before reading it I had a certain expectation regarding the plot in my mind. It didn't reach the expectation but I stilled enjoyed it.
The first chapter gave you a hint of what is to come throughout the story as Luna is a bit overwhelmed with everything, in particular, her son's condition. Angry Sex is basically Luna needing a form of release for herself. She then meets Adam, who also is stressed, angry and frustrated. They start a relationship based on a no strings attached rule and a bam bam pow sex release therapy whenever and wherever sessions as I like to think of them. Luna's character for me was ok. The author defiantly left her discombobulated and a little all over the place mentally and emotionally, hence the concept of the story. It seems her stress was more from her worrying about her son than anything else. Adam was sexy and fun and I liked his sense of humor; I think they balanced each other out.
Without giving too much away and what left me a bit unsatisfied was Ben's storyline, Luna's ex husband. Ben was nice, hot, sexy and yummy and in the beginning, I was conflicted because I almost wanted them back together. The author used him to give us a taste with Luna and used him a little too well. He was there for the beginning and then he later came back in the end. I found myself asking myself, where is Ben? Will I see him again? I definitely think Ben should get his own angry sex story. Not to take away from Luna and Adam but I enjoyed Ben and I think his relationship with Luna left me split with the storyline.
Overall, was it great? No. Was it enjoyable? Personally for me, yes.
Kindle length: 3496
Storyline: FAIRLY GOOD
Intimacy Level: VERY SPICY / w/ a tiny D.R.I.P
In this story, however, I really struggled with the heroine, Luna. Her helicopter-parenting drove me insane, to the point that I found I didn't have empathy for her situation and, ultimately, found myself not actually liking her.
The hero, Adam, was interesting enough, but no more than Luna's ex-husband. Her physical relationship with her ex seemed more intense than that with Adam.
So, in summary, I didn't really like it. But this won't stop me from reading Ms Marsden's other works, as she is a very talented author.
Being a fan of Sommer Marsden's dirty little mind, I was super excited to start reading this sexy looking book, and as always I wasn't let down. Luna Watkins is the sweetly relatable main character in this story, a stressed out single mother struggling to juggle the responsibilities of owning her own catering company and dealing with her son's mysterious health issues. She is overwhelmed, frustrated, and angry, and needs to find some way to release her mounting emotional aggravation. She finds that much needed release with Adam, a handsome new member of her wait staff. However, Adam has a lot he is dealing with too and soon their flirtatious sparring turns into a no strings attached sex fest; a sort of naked therapy if you will. But the more they try to use sex to escape from and work through their problems, the closer they become emotionally to each other. In short, it gets complicated, but that only serves to make it hotter! The sex scenes are aggressive and extremely graphic, (it is called "Angry Sex" after all) but in a very good way. The only issue I had with this story was Ben, Luna's ex-husband. I kind of wanted/expected them to get back together in the beginning. It left me feeling a bit conflicted at first; I didn't really want to like Adam, although, in the end, I did. I found this book to be a thoroughly enjoyable read and any fan of romance and erotica is bound to enjoy it too!
