The tale will start on a train, and two childhood sweethearts will meet again, after nearly eight years apart and the story will take on a life and death situation, along with endurance and fortitude to survive and move forward. Angus has worked as a railroad detective traveling the rail lines and guarding shipments of gold and silver from the mines. Daisy left for Chicago after Angus moved away. They will find themselves injured, but lucky to be alive after a train robbery.
The plot will have two people reconnecting, realizing that the feelings they had for each other during childhood have not gone away. After a train robbery, which included the murder of several train employees, Angus will be without a job and purpose. Returning to Clear Creek, Kansas, it will be good to see his family and friends, but what is he to do now? Daisy Clancy has decided it is time to return to her family, with her grandparents aging, and has studied the pharmaceutical trade and has decided to open her own Pharmacy. She has never quit loving Angus and is hoping that he will be willing to settle down and maybe see what happens between them. Will the mystery of the train robbery be solved and Angus exonerated in the eyes of the mining company and railroad? With the railroad depot agent, Mr. Danel’s wanting to retire, will Angus be content in that job that Mr. Daniel’s trained him in when he was younger? “Mr. Daniels always told me when working with passengers and telegrams, ‘You don’t snoop, you don’t gossip, and you don’t decide the law.’ I’ve always lived by those rules.”
This story has a lovely love story, along with a bit of danger. I enjoyed reading this story and would recommend it to others.
