About the Author

Dr. Matthias Rath is a scientist, doctor, an author of numerous medical texts, a leader in the world peace movement – and a longtime medical researcher. Throughout the past 20 years, he has built a worldwide organization dedicated to medical research of vitamin-based "cellular health" solutions, education about the health benefits of such solutions, political awareness about the threat to availability of vitamin products posed by the United Nations’ "Codex Alimentarius" (Food Standard) Commission and the development of vitamin-based therapies.

In 1987, Dr. Rath discovered the connection between vitamin C deficiency and a new risk factor for heart disease- lipoprotein(a). After publication of these research findings in the American Heart Association journal Arteriosclerosis, Dr. Rath accepted an invitation by Nobel Laureate Linus Pauling. In 1990, he came to the United States to become the first Director of Cardiovascular Research at the Linus Pauling Institute in Palo Alto, California.

Under the banner of cellular health – which theorizes that effective treatment for many health issues starts at the cellular level – Dr. Rath’s scientific and clinical research has shown that vitamin deficiencies cause the most common chronic diseases, such as heart attacks and strokes. His work has also led to insights about the use of cellular health solutions to treat cancer and high blood pressure.
