This is the best animorph book ever!!! Its the best book because my favourite character is Rachel and my favourite animal is a cat and in the book she morphs into a cat. The book is about five teens who get thrown into this intergalactic battle between the Yeerks(bad alien slugs who slither into your head and take over your body) and the Andalites (good aliens with the power to morph into any animal they touch.) In the last book a dying Andalite gave the five kids the power to turn into any animal they touch as well. In this book Rachel thinks her best friend Melissa is a controller (a person with a yeerk in their head) She morphs Melissa's cat Fluffer McKitty(!), and sneaks into their house. One catch: Mellisa is the daughter of their vice principal who also happens to be a controller...
This was the first animorph book I read and it was a great first animorph book for me.

My 76 year old mother is finishing this book and cannot wait to start her third book in the series. She has a Phd in microbiology if you thought she might not have the brain power to enjoy something like the Pulitzer prize winner The Goldfinch. And she gobbled Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury when she was much younger. I have read them both also.

We both find this series a clean and fun set of books with a thought provoking story. Much more between the lines than air. I recommend these books for all ages and it would be a great way to read with your child.

The Vistitor is REALLY COOL!I love the books about Rachel and Tobias! So,this is the story....

Rachel used to be best friends with Melissa Chapman, but that was before the Yeerks, before the Andalite, and before the power to morph... Now Rachel seems to notice a chage in Melissa,She's not herself.Jake and the other Animorphs think they should spy on Melissa and her father,Principal Chapman,a known Controller. They only have one problem:How can they get inside the house?Rachel soon discovers the ideal morph:Melissa's cat,Fluffer Mckitty.Well inside the house Rachel makes some surprising discoveries, like why Chapman became a Controller, and other things..........
This is a Fabulous book!!!!!If you like the animorph books you need to read this!!!!

Getting having the brain mind in a morph make no sence and visser three is wrong Rachel will be more useful helpful as a kitten nothlit with the morphing ability restored because Rachel is a dangerous threat and need to be come a nothlit with the morphing ability restored and the only way for the good to stop the evil from conquering the world is for the good to be trapped in a morph and not the good to be controllers and some time after the animorphs find the divice that give the morphing ability Melissa chapman need to go up to one of the animorph and say I know something is up because of the note I got and that will lead to Melissa chapman getting the morphing ability witch Melissa chapman can only use the morphing ability to spy on her father mr chapman why Mr Chapman is talking to any controller with Melissa chapman morphed only as her pet kitten and Rachel is morphing in to a kitten because true cat have big Round circle shape body belly ! I believe in both the book serie and television serie Tobias book only and Rachel both the book and television serie are morphing in to a kitten because the morph have skinny belly the belly need to be large for it to be a cat on the visitor both Jake and Rachel are in danger of ending up trapped in flea morph and kitten morph respectively but then Jake demorph to human to morph orange tiger the television version only Rachel is is danger of ending up trapped in morph because Rachel has about under a hours or some minutes left why Jake has over a hours Lefts in dog morph Jake dog morph witch is his pet dog on the television serie in real life was know as Jessie I read it some where on line and Jake pet dog on the television has to of been played my a female dog I can not tell the difference between male and female animals on television and book at all !Read more ›

In The Vistor Rachel is the narator. She tells about her adventures as an Animorph. In the first Chapter or so everything is kinda slow (I don't want to say boring but). After that everything really gets action packed. They want to spy on Mr.Chapman (the assistant principal at the school all the Animorphs go to except Tobias who got stuck in a morph as a hawk because he stayed in morph for too long). They know that Chapman is a big part in the Yeerks plan to take over the world. Chapman has a daughter named Melissa. She has a cat named Fluffer Mckitty. To get into Chapmans house Rachel has to become Fluffer. It is hard to catch Fluffer because he is a tomcat (A male cat). When they find him he gets scared and runs up a tree. To get Fluffer down Rachel has to become a shrew. Finally they get Fluffer down. After they acquire Fluffer's DNA.The next night they all went to Chapmans house. Rachel was the last one to arrive. She was already Fluffer. There was a kitty door going into the Chapman's house. When Rachel gets to the living room, Chapman is just sitting there. He walks to the basement and Rachel follows. Chapman turns on a machine and a Hologram of Visser Three appears. Visser Three is the Yeerk King. Chapman doesn't mind that the cat is there. When Visser Three notices the cat, he tells Chapman to kill it because it could be an Andalite Warrior. Rachel returns to visit Chapman again while he is talking to Visser Three. Rachel tries to hide, but Chapman finds her and catches her. He takes her to a construction site that is unfinished. Visser Three comes down in person. He puts Rachel in one of the space ships. Will this be the end of Rachel? I guess you will have to read the book to find out what happens next
