Don't Last

I have had good luck with Anker in the past. I bought one of their power banks in 2016 and it is a wonderful product that I still use today. So I thought I would get this collection of cords to be able to keep my phone charged. Ever since my stock charging cable stopped working I have had terrible luck with cords. But one of the best was the 18 inch cord that came with the power bank. It served me well for a decently long time, and when it stopped I contacted Anker and they quickly sent me a new one with almost no hassle. (The replacement wasn't as good, but it worked well enough, so I couldn't complain.)

Based on that track record of good quality products and stellar customer service, I decided to order this set of cables. Surely the ones that come with power banks would not be their highest quality, and I figured five cables with 5000 bend ratings would probably last quite a long time. And if they didn't last as long as they should, I could contact Anker's great customer service and easily get replacements.

Boy, was I wrong.

At first the cables seemed pretty good. They charged my phone quickly and came in convenient lengths (though none as convenient as the 18 inches that I had gotten with the power bank). Then one by one they started failing. One of them didn't even last a month. "No worries," I figured. "I can just contact support and get replacements for the ones that have failed." So when three of them were no longer working I sent and email to customer service. They took forever to respond and seemed not to believe me when I said that three of the cables were no longer working. The agent asked for a picture of them. That was annoying, but not unreasonable. Life delayed me for a few days, but I did reply with a picture. That was months ago and I never heard anything back. Now all of the cables have stopped working.

If this were my only experience with Anker I would without a doubt not be buying any of their products ever again. As it is, I am still quite happy with the power bank, so I will still consider them in future, but probably not for power cables.

Update:
Shortly after I posted this I was contacted by Anker offering to send me a new set of cables with no more questions asked. So if you're having problems with the customer service maybe try writing a review?

Unfortunately, shortly after the new cables arrived I lost my phone, so I wasn't able to fully test them. My first impression is that they were not as good as I remembered. Most notably, they gave the best charge when not fully pushed in. But that may have just been the old phone's having deteriorated.

I will try to remember to update again when I have had a chance to fully test them with the new phone.

Look and feel like a quality cable but quit working after a few months

I have purchased a couple packs of these over the past couple of years. They do not hold up well. They seem well made but after a few months they quit working. I have had cables that look and feel much inferior than these that actually last longer. At first I thought I got a lemon but then another cable quit working and then another...... Will be trying a different brand next time.

I have no idea why they quit working. The exterior of the cable was still in excellent condition and the connector ends looked OK. I even used a jewelers loupe and still didn't notice an issue with the connectors.

What a great deal. These cables are the most durable and well-made I've ever seen, and work beautifully for charging even my older phones which charge slowly or not at all anymore on various other cheapo charging cables. With a variety pack of 5 for $9, you'll be set for all your devices. Not to mention Anker is a brand I've come to love as they have the best customer service ever, hands down, period. Cable breaks on you? Contact their support and 90% of the time they'll mail you a new one no problem. You don't see that kind of commitment almost anywhere else.

UPDATE 10/2/2016: yeah...so I discovered that unfortunately, these cables are really dodgy for data transfer usage situations. What I mean is when I plug my android phone (Moto X Pure 2015) in my computer with the cables, it won't do MTP file transfer to/from the internal storage or SD card. The computer just won't recognize it - nothing shows up in device manager, even though the Windows "device connected" jingle sounds when you plug it in. I tried using it for fastboot and ADB in the Android SDK and the cable just wasn't having any of it. Then I plugged in a cheap Chinese microUSB cable from ebay, and it worked like a charm. These cables are still stellar for charging, but apparently not data. Gotta knock off a star for that.

Picked these up as a deal off of Kinja because my GF only had one charging cord for her Samsung Galaxy something-or-other, and would tend to forget it whenever we went somewhere. The 6ft became her primary charging cord and the other ones got dispersed amongst glove boxes and travel bags so no matter what, there'd always be a charging cable for her.

I've used the PowerLine lightning cables before (have a 10ft for my iPhone) and I'm a fan of their durability and kink resistance so Anker was my first choice when getting cables for her phone. They all had the little Velcro-ish straps on them to keep them bundled up nicely which is a nice touch.

I don't personally use these cables aside from when my GF asks me to plug her phone in, BUT I haven't received any complaints about them so they must work!

These cables arrived today, and I'm very impressed with them. I'm so happy with my purchase! I've been using the cable that comes with my phone, and they are not sturdy whatsoever. I was drawn to these, because I've purchased Anker items in the past and was very impressed, so when I saw these, I jumped right on them. I love that they're heavy duty, because I'm really clumsy, and really hard on phone cables, so these will work great for me! I really like that they come with little velcro strips, so they will stay tidy when I fold them! Great buy!

Note: In the photos, the 6ft cable is missing, because I was actively charging my phone with it while trying to do this review.

Solid cords with good connectivity but the one I use most (the 6') stopped working today, just short of 7 months after receiving them. I'll probably buy the replacement cord from Anker; I know I'm pretty rough on cords and these have held up admirably despite frequent use.

Bought these hoping to replace all the cheaper micro USBs that I seem to be constantly throwing away. Tested all of them and they work great. There is a solid feel when plugging into devices. They seem to be the same quality of the OEM cables that I have gotten with phones that seem to be the only cables that last.
Only complaint I would have, I'd rather pay a bit more for another 6ft and drop a 1ft. The use of the 1ft cables are a bit limited for me at least.
