Unfortunately, it does not fit my Pixel 4 XL unless I remove my Rhinoshield bumper case (which is actually quite minimal). I tested with a Galaxy S7 with a thin Spigen case on it and it fit better, but still felt like the case should be removed for better stability. The placement of the charging port seems strange to me... why not place it close to where the port on the phone is and include a very short charging cable to keep everything tidy (the included cable is longer than expected).
If you are a person that does not use any form of case on your phone then I could see this being used often and being an enjoyable experience. For me, it's a too much hassle to keep removing my case every time I want to use the device, so I have returned this item... I'm hoping there will be a second revision with a few changes.
1) It does not wirelessly charge so there’s always going to be an unattractive cable on the way IF you want the fan functionality to work.
2) does no work with cases. As a gamer, I have the Razer Arctech to help it cool down. I was hoping doubling-down with this would be a great way to push my phone to the limit. No luck!
3) I’m on an iPhone XS Max and the processing chip is right below the camera, not in the center. Therefore, while gaming, I actually got negative performance while on the came because the heat was being trapped within the case. I replicated results on Dead by Deadlight Mobile, Fortnite, and Geekbench apps.
Benefits are the fact that it is an awesome power bank, a great stand, and extra comfort to gaming. It is impressively well-build and arrived on time!
I was so excited when I saw this that I ordered it without question. Unfortunately, I’m going to return it because 1) it lacks wireless charging and it feels awkward to have a cable sticking out 2) the fan does not actually cool down my *specific* phone and 3) it’s too pricey to keep it just as a stand and power bank, compared to their other products.
Other options offer a lot of cool functionality and additional buttons and gimmicks, but this one is solid, comfortable, and useful. And the fan is positioned so you can actually set it down without blocking the airflow! So many others get this wrong and you have to turn the fan off first or you’ll wear out the motor because air can’t flow. And if you want the extra buttons, I clip on a couple Gamesir F5 triggers at the top of my phone, and they fit great above this battery grip.
My phone doesn’t fit while in its case, but cooling is more effective with the case off anyway.
It falls short of a five star review for a couple particular "quality of life" reasons. The first one is that it opens wide enough to accept my phone only if I don't have a case on my phone. It opens exactly enough for my phone without even a fraction of an inch more space. I don't see myself using this very much having to remove my phone case every time to use it. The included cable is too long. If I orient my power and volume buttons on the left of my phone towards the top, it put my charging port on the left side, very close to where the output on the power bank is. I don't need a foot of cable for that and end up with too much loose cord hanging about. Plugging in my phone in this orientation causes the connector to cover the battery level guage.
If there is another generation of this, I'd advise making it open up a half inch wider, move the battery level guage and having a shorter cord, ideally with a 90 degree connector for the end that plugs into the battery. Then you have a five star product that I would use daily.

Nice rubber around the edges to protect the side and keep it in place nicely.
The added grip handles really help playing comfortably with a textured backing to the device.
Kick stand is a great addition for when you take a break or drink etc.
I think the fan sucks heat away from the device, rather than blowing it with air; it comes out a vent on top of the grip. I'm sure it helps a little, fairly quiet.
Feels sturdy and the extending part is built very well & Stiff so it shouldn't extend on its own.
I've only used it for a few hours but Anker products tend to be Top quality and this feels no different so far.
