I've bought a few Anker products over the years, such as a few USB-C cables and USB extension hubs, and I decided to purchase the audio jack converter. I didn't want to take a risk with other brands since they tend to disappear after a few months, so I forked over the nearly $20 for it.

Just like others said, the converter is a tight fit and a bit difficult to take it out of my S22 Ultra. But I prefer that instead of having it come loose or even breaking inside of the port.

The sound quality itself is good and haven't noticed a difference when I use audio jacks with my laptop or Note 9.

The only gripes I have with the product is the price point for it and the fact the USB-C head portion of the cable swings more than the audio jack portion of the cable. If the product was a few dollars less then I can easily give it 5 stars across the board. Overall, the converter is a good product and I would recommend Anker to anyone looking to purchase 3rd party products.

Just plug in adapter and 1/8th inch headphone cable to listening device. Have tried with headphones audio technica ATH-M50xBT2, full range powered speakerd qsc kw 153, offbrand ear buds and car stereo inputs. The gray color and woven cable are astheticaly pleasing, other color choices would be nice like red to match my charging cables from Anker. Would recommend for anyone looking to connect a usb c device to a wired audio device.

I bought this adapter because my new Lenovo Tab 11 tablet does not have a headphone socket and I want to be able to use wired headphones. The Lenovo tablet has Dolby Atmos and the output to the headphones is after the Atmos effects are applied, which is very useful. The sound has a lot of clarity and without any effects applied is quite a flat response. This suits me for classical music and jazz, but you might want to use a graphic equaliser or Atmos (if you have either) to shape the sound a bit more to your taste. The first headphones I tried with it were old Sennheiser EH350's. These are y normal headphones for casual listening. The sound level in the headphones took about 60% of the device volume. This was greater than the earphone "safety setting" so I had to click agree to go beyond that. Obviously, it is not unsafe because this is the safety level set for in-ear earphones.

The Anker adapter contains a digital to analogue converter and an amplifier which are hidden inside the USB-C plug so I wondered if it might be able to drive my Sennheiser HD600 headphones. I have never used these with a mobile device and with a CD player, they require a dedicated headphone amplifier. I didn't think it would work, but the volume at 70% was sufficient to drive them with a very lifelike sound. Listening to Spotify on maximum quality and comparing to the same recording on CD via a high end (Graham Slee) headphone amp, the phone plus Anker adapter is about 60% of the quality. Half of that difference will be down to the source material not being as good as CD. If you are listening to older material that was not digitally recorded the difference is far less noticeable. Clearly, this is a very tough test and you can't expect something that costs £15 to be as good as something that costs hundreds of pounds, but it does a decent job given the price difference.

I have also tried the adapter on a Google Pixel 5 phone with the same results as the tablet.

I can not vouch for the long term reliability of the adapter. Anything with a cable going into plugs is going to be prone to breakage of the wires after a while.

In conclusion, this adapter does everything it claims to and is of far better quality than I would have expected for the price.

Paired Pixel 7 Pro with 80's Sony MDR-V3 headphones. Sound is balanced and detailed. Also used on Lenovo laptop (2017 era) where there is a huge difference compared with the headphone jack, more clarity to the sound.

Product initially seems well made and feels that it should last. Only area of concern would be the fit into the USB socket with I find is tight. Perhaps this is done for a reason but you need to use more effort to attach and remove. This does mean that it wont fall out if you drop your phone or catch your headphone wire on something.

Happy with this product and how much I paid. Could pay more or pay less for the same quality but sound is a very subjective subject. Good thing is that you can return if you are not happy with it so this removes a lot of risk when buying.

It then caused problems with my laptop's volume settings, after plugging it in.

Lastly, its audio quality is inferior to the audio quality produced from the headphone socket of my laptop!

I have since returned it and settled for a cheaper alternative. Personally, it's completely overpriced for what little it offers.

Having bought two of https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B087BS3LY7/ and found the need to return both as neither worked reliably, I resorted to Anker, a brand whose various cables and connectors I have used before with good results.

It's too early to tell whether this one will be more reliable than the others, though it is not as nicely made and twice the price.

But I can give one verdict quickly enough. While adequate for podcasts on the move, it sounds quite noticeably less good than the other two did, in the periods when they chose to work. It's not distorted, but there is not as much life in the music and the result is less engaging.

Since these types of cable contain the DAC and amplifier, the cable actually can make a big difference to the sound quality. This cable does well on that front - no background hiss, mids and highs similar to my iPhone 12 Pro, but with more bass. Which was a nice surprise given the Pixels don't seem to have a user-adjustable EQ!

Picture shows Apple's lightning to headphone cable for comparison - the Anker cable has a noticeably higher build quality.
