The hub delivers a 49W for charging the connected laptop and 11W for powering the hub when connected to a 60W power input.
The USB ports are intended for data transfer. They provide insufficient power output for charging.
The extended cable is 0.5 ft long.

Here is why I gave this product 1 star.
1. The usb ports: these ports are crazy tight. It is difficult to plug in or remove a usb cable into these ports as the case of the unit has not been machined correctly.
2. The power delivery port does not work. I have a Dell XPS 13, and the PD port on this unit does not charge the laptop. This was one of the main reasons for me getting this device, so that it wouldn't take up a usb C port on my laptop. At least with the Dell XPS 13, you cannot charge the laptop through the PD port.
3. This device does NOT run at 4k60hz. There is a question about this in the product page, and someone replied saying it does work in this config. They are wrong. I have tried it on both a monitor as well as a 4k tv and it will not output at 60hz. It will run 2560x1440 at 60hz, but not at 4k60. The best refresh rate I managed to hit at 4k was 24hz.
EDIT: Anker saw my review and offered to help fix the problem so I have updated my rating. They sent me a replacement unit which is nice of them to do. Unfortunately the new unit has all the same symptoms of the old one although I do really appreciate their customer service as they are the ones who reached out to me to try and make this right.
This adapter works flawlessly. I can use all three USB 3.0 ports and both card slots at the same time without a noticeable drop in speed. I have not been able to test out the UHD limits of the HDMI port yet, but it works at 1920x1080 @ 60p perfectly fine.
The only feature this hub lacks, in my opinion, is an ethernet port. If you are transferring large files over a local network, I would strongly recommend picking up a separate USB C to ethernet adapter.
I am very happy with this hub. I have two comparable and more expensive hubs from Lention, and I've had issues with bus speed and SD cards not showing up when using them. I strongly recommend Anker's products. Out of the dozens I own, only one has failed. After contacting their customer service, I had a replacement within the week.
Updated to the original issues.
1) 3440x1440 WQHD - still at 30Hz. Haven't found any other hubs that does 60Hz at this resolution. Perhaps technology limitations?
2) Moved over to Bluetooth mouse, no issues.
3) Port alignment is now perfect.
I have been a real advocate for Anker like a lot of people who so far had good luck with their products. This experience however may affect my future buying decisions. I just received the 7-in-1 USB C hub, and I was excited to add USB A ports and a HDMI port to my 2017 MacBook Pro.
First, 3440x1440 WQHD resolution only works in 30 Hz, which was disappointing.
Second, I plugged in my Logitech Anywhere Receiver into the first port, but there seems to be interference which prevents 2.4GHz receiver to work right. It is choppy enough that it is unusable.
Third and the primary reason for this rating - Just like the other few reviewers, USB ports are so tight that I could not pull out my Logitech Receiver. It eventually came out in SEVERAL pieces with the rectangulat USB metal piece STILL INSIDE of the hub. Then I had to use a PLIER to pull out the metal piece. Great. Now I have to return this, find some other product from a manufacturer that I have no experience with, and buy another mouse receiver.
As for the SD/microSD card ports, they seem to work fine. The USB power delivery port seems to passthrough fine as advertised at 49W using the Apple original 87W charger and Apple original USB-C 2.0 cable.
Upon further inspection, I noticed that the part of the USB port did not align with the aluminum opening of the housing. There is very small tolerance that if you end up receiving the hub that is not aligned perfectly from the factory, you do not want to plug in anything there.

Worked for a couple of hours, and while it was working I was very happy but can't get things working again having powered everything off and on again, run an SMC reset on the Mac, tried every USB C port, and both the Mac and an Anker power supply.
Before needing the 7-in-1 USB-C hub, I previously had the 10 Port USB 3.0 Data Hub, 7 of which died after very short use on an iMac.
Similarly, neither the originally purchased 7-in-1 'Premium' USB C Hub Adapter or its required replacemtn have 'ever' worked efficiently with Macbook Pro (2018), both suffering the ubiquitous "USB Disabled" scourge, even when using the power delivery charging port:
Q: What's the point of a power delivery charging port if it doesn't deliver power?? Such a simple pre-requisite, hardly rocket-science.
Anker's service can't be faulted, but I can't help thinking that the high price of the hub is what funds it:
Q: What's the point of pretty packaging, friendly customer service and fast replacements 'if the PRODUCT doesn't work'?
A: If you're going to charge 'premium' prices, make damn sure you're making a 'premium' product.
This certainly isn't it.

As others have said the usb-a ports are a tad tight but that's a good thing I think - no chance of wriggling loose when not working at a desk.
Only time will tell about the usb-c cable. Using the supplied case, I am concerned about the cable getting damaged as it double backs on its self. So far so good though.
Been using this nearly daily for 4 months.
60W power is okay for charging and it seems to work with everything I have plugged in so far
