It could of started a fire. Smoked after only 1 night with a single iPad air connected to it using the Apple charging cable. WTF? I have had good luck with Anker in the past but this is very scary and I'm so sad that this charger wasn't everything I was hoping for.
UPDATE: Anker sent me a replacement which seems to be working fine after a year.

Top heavy, won't stay in a wall socket

I wanted to like this as I previously bought an Anker wall charger with multiple slots, which was great (until I lost it). Anker no longer makes that model so I bought this as a replacement. The problem with this charger is that it is so top-heavy that whatever you plug into it pulls the charger head out of the wall. It isn't a problem with power strips that are on the floor, but plug it into any wall socket and you see the problem within minutes. Whoever designed this obviously did no field testing of this because the problem is immediately apparent

However as you can see from the picture, this was not my experience. With only a single device charging, the charge speed with the PowerPort 4 was very slow - over 5 hours to charge from 28% battery. Slower than I'd expect from a 2.4A charger.
This wasn't just an estimation error either - my S7 was really charging slowly. This was tested with the same cord, same outlet.
However, as their reputation suggests, they refunded my order, no hassle at all, even though it was slightly outside of the return window.
That's why I bought an Anker product to begin with - even if the product doesn't work, I know Anker backs up their products.
It's entirely possible that this was just a case of a defective product, rather than a problem inherent to PowerIQ technology. Either way, I can recommend buying Anker products with confidence, even if this product doesn't suit your needs.

This multiple port charger is fantastic - it's sleek and portable as the prongs fold up into the body. For mainland European travels, just buy a multi-prong adapter and you're good to go (this is both 120/240 volt compatible).
A drawback is you can't change the position of the electrical prongs, however - the adaptor can only be plugged into the electrical socket in one position (see photo). Fortunately, it's not a space hog and there's room for another plug underneath. But just beware if you needed it to fit alongside another cumbersome plug and were hoping its position could be changed (it can't), like some iterations of the wall charger.
This Anker charger has 4 USB ports and with its 'smart charging' technology it can tell what type of device is plugged into it and how much of a charge each one needs (fast charge vs slow charging). This alone makes it worth the price over and above a cheaper USB charger port. With multiple iPhones plugged in, all get fully charged in the same time as if you had plugged each one into an independent socket. Such a space saver and no one argues over the previously-sparse charging space.
Extra points for packaging, as insignificant as this might sound. :) It comes in a nicely-presented blue box which makes it seem like a nice little present. There's contact information for their customer service readily available, and reading it (although I haven't had to contact them) it seems the company wants you to reach out with any problems. I've not had any and can happily recommend this great little Anker USB Multiple Port Charger!
