UPDATE: After returning this item and receiving a new one, I am happy to give this a full five stars. After using the replacement the very first time, it's clear something was dreadfully wrong with the original one from the start. The replacement perfectly charges multiple devices with no issues, and heck - I even love the colors. I've noticed that the slightly taller design compared to competing units makes plugging and unplugging cables much easier as well.

And many kudos to Anker customer service for handling my problem quickly and courteously - customer service like theirs is most appreciated and really left me feeling like they're a company I can count on.

Original review: Stopped working after a few weeks
After a few weeks we noticed the batteries on the phones were very hot when using this, and we first thought this was just the quick-charge at work. But after a couple times when they became alarmingly hot, we decided to pull this out of the lighter plug and stop using it. A couple days later we were in a pinch and it was still in the car, so we tried it again, and it would not charge anything. I suspect the heat got to it. So this was no better than the ones you get for $1 at the drug store checkout counter.

My family needed some extra lightning cables, wall chargers, and car chargers when we bought our iPhone SEs. We ended up going with the Anker brand for all of these products and we couldn’t be happier. The dual USB car charger has been great – we bought 2, one for each car! We are a traveling family and needed the assurance of a good car charger since we also use our phones as our GPS. Plus, with the dual USB slots, my wife and I can charge our phones at the same time, so no more fights on whose turn it is to charge their phone! I highly recommend these car chargers for anyone looking for a quality product!

I bought one of these on a whim and it was a great decision. Compared to a cheap drugstore adapter... Well, there's no comparison. Anker is on a whole other level of awesomeness. This is the second time I've ordered one of these from Anker (I bought another one for my mom) and I continue to be incredibly satisfied with the performance of their products. The adapter charges quickly, works just as well in the cigarette lighter of my '95 Suburban as it does in my mom's much newer Dodge Avenger, and is sleek and pretty to boot. Buy it. You won't regret it.

When I searched for "anker dual qualcomm car charger," this is the first product that showed up in the search results.

This is actually a great car charger, provided you are not expecting it to fast charge or quick charge. I mistakenly purchased this charger because several reviews stated it will fast charge a Samsung Note 5. The description said that it delivers the fastest possible charge, but does not support Qualcomm.

However, I am not going to deduct stars based on my error of trusting that other people knew what they were talking about. I should know better than that!

I am not going to go through the hassle of sending it back; I will just give it away to someone with an older phone that does not support fast charging. Before my next road trip, however, I will need a different car charger that is capable of fast charging.

I also purchased several Anker USB cables for specialized use and they are working great. The company seems to make durable products.

This Anker PowerDrive+ 2 is the most powerful car charger I've seen thus far. It has 2 USB ports that support Quick Charge 2.0 so you can charge two QC 2.0 phones concurrently. Most car chargers either have 2 USB ports but neither of them are QC 2.0 compatible resulting in slower charge times, or there may be only one QC 2.0 port. This is a very unique car charger with two QC 2.0 ports.

I tested this with 2 of my family's Samsung Note 4 phones. I enabled QC 2.0 on both Note 4 phones and saw that both phones increased about 35% battery in 20 min. That's as fast as the Samsung QC 2.0 charger at home. This car charger will be very useful for individuals or families with multiple QC 2.0 devices. The purpose of QC 2.0 is to quickly charge your devices in as little time as possible, and in most cases your car driving may not be long trips. Getting a quick and substantial battery boost in your 30 minute drives is great before you get to your next destination.

Also tested this with my non QC 2.0 devices (iPhone 6, iPad Air, Samsung Galaxy S tablet) and they charged properly as well. So that's reassuring to know this charger can charge at fast QC 2.0 speeds if you need it to but is also fully compatible with regular USB charged devices that are not QC 2.0 enabled.

The size is about the same length and slightly wider than the regular Anker PowerDrive car charger with 2 regular (non QC 2.0 ports). I've attached some photos for comparison. Obviously the QC 2.0 technology requires more circuitry, thus the slightly larger size. All of my QC 2.0 home chargers are slightly larger than non QC 2.0 chargers as well. The build is very well made and assembled and should last you a very long time.

This is a great product, very powerful for two QC 2.0 devices, and is built by a reputable company in Anker.

I was supplied a sample for test and evaluation, and I promised that my review is fair and honest

Seems to work good, the only thing I really don't like is it slips out of the outlet. If you move the cable too much, or something knocks into it, it slowly slides out just enough where the blue light goes off, and it is no longer charging.

Usually I don't even notice it slipped out a little, and then I think my phone was charging and it wasn't. Has to be pushed all the way in to make good contact and it just doesn't seem like it wants to stay in so I have to constantly check it, or at least make sure my phone is charging when I plug it in.

If you are driving, this is not something you want to be distracted by. My previous car charger never had this problem, so I never had to think twice about my phone charging or not, of course my previous charger did not charge as well as this one, but at least it stayed in!

I'm considering returning the product, but other than that it works well.

Anker has gone above and beyond to address this issue. I've received a replacement product to test, but I had the same results. They then offered to send me a different product. The second replacement worked like a charm, it was a little longer than this one, but is basically the same item, it stays in my cigarette port nice and tight, where you have to pull it hard to get it out (just like any other cigarette adapter).

Very happy with the customer service and Anker has retained me as a customer. I feel the design of the smaller one could be a little better, maybe the circumference is like .1mm to small or something, or just the fact that it is so short reduces the strength of it staying in.

My first Anker purchase was a portable charger. I was so impressed with the quality and charging capability that I purchased this car charger. I thought it would be like any average car charger but I was wrong. It charges much faster than the car charger I was using. Feels solid and well made. Charges two devices with no problems. You can see your device's charge increase even while your using the device that's being charged. Definitely puts out enough power. I've charged our phone's, a tablet, my Anker portable charger, and my action cam. All charge well and quick. I've purchased another car charger after this one. The PowerDrive 2 Elite. Pretty much the same technology but looks a little different and the ports are lit in blue. I'm hooked and looking to purchase some other types of Anker chargers.

Charges pretty slow. Not what I expected coming from Anker. However, After writing an initial review on this prduct. The good folks at Anker, didn't waste any time to respond to my issue. They sent me a replacement and the replacement charges the phone in less than 30 minutes. Definitely the best customer service I have had. I would recommend this company anytime. So far, I have the power bank (which is also a fast charger), a bluetooth "selfie" pole, and my fast charging car charger. Looking forward to seeing new products made by Anker. Multiple thumbs up for Anker!

UPDATE: After writing the previous review AnkerDirect contacted me promptly to make it right so to speak. they were very helpful in solving the issue. They sent me a new charger and only asked to send the old one back after recieving the new one. having recieved the new one i can tell the one i had received was defective from the beginning . the springs on the tabs of this new one work great and dont bind up in the socket like the old one which eventually led to catastrophic failure. it was a simple matter of a defective unit. But they made up for it. and they will make sure to take care of any issues you may have. For making a useful and affordable product and having incredible customer service skills for dealing with the one or two random defective units, i give this item a 5/5

I do not wish to give this product too low of a score because it may have been the outlet itself that caused this issue but this thing basically broke within 2 weeks, the tabs seized inside of the outlet and got stuck inside the body of the device. The device is now unusable. I am uncertain if i will purchase from this company again, but as i said, it may not have been their fault.

This is an update to my previous review below. I am upgrading the rating from 3 to 5 stars. I had some issues with the charger (see original review). I was going to live with them. They are not critical. A few days after a posted this review, I was contacting by Anker's customer service rep. She offered to send me a replacement. I received the replacement yesterday. To my surprise, in addition to the 2 port charger, they tossed in an additional 4 port charger too. Both worked flawlessly. I have to say that the 4 port charger looks and feels much better than the 2 port charger. It just feel sturdier and more polished. It is not much bigger. If I had to do it again, I would order the 4 port charger. Thanks Anker! You have a customer for life.

Anker makes great chargers. I have 5 other chargers from them. This one is good but not 5 stars. Whenever I plug my phone in, there is a 25% chance that no electricity would be flowing to it. I had to unplug it and try again to make sure the phone starts charging. Not a big deal, just annoying. It's not the phone since it works fine with my other Anker chargers. I switched out the cable too. So it must be the charger or the car. I am hoping it is not my Lexus.
