I'm in the US Marine Corps. I had to spend a week in the field with no access to a power source. I bought this product in hopes that it would be able to keep my phone charged through the duration of my field ops. It performed perfectly and did everything go expected it to. I also had a 10,000 mAh back up battery pack. I used the Anker charger to charge up my battery pack during the day then I would charge my phone with the battery pack at time when I had time. With 2 hours of direct sunlight it was able to charge my back up battery to full charge every day. So basicly I kept my phone charged using it consistently for over a week with no power source other than the sun.

Now, there are some cons as well. First, there are no Velcro straps to tie this on backpack, so you will have to improvise. Second, it keeps on disconnecting when tied on your backpack. It is very annoying as my phone keeps on beeping along with vibration every 2-3 seconds. To avoid this, I put my phone on silent mode with vibration off. It's worth mentioning that this problem is not faced as seriously when you are stationed at a camp site. Apart from these cons, this product is a must have for campers and hikers.
PS: I have not faced with rain or dew while charging, so I am not dead sure about it's water proof or water resistant qualities. I guess our only concern in wet conditions should be to save it's power output usb unit which is well hidden in a pocket.
**Update**
You should be careful not to put your electronic gadgets direct under sunlight as this may lead to overheating. I have uploaded a screenshot of iPhone 6 for the same. To avoid this, I covered my phone with a white cloth and never faced this problem again. Happy Charging!!
**Update II**
After using this for nearly two years now, I am still happy and very much satisfied. It’s charging capacity or capability has not been diminished. If there is any area to improve upon then I would suggest to put an optional bridge between two plates. This would help to extract maximum juice out of sun and make easy to lay it diagonally.

I have been using this on my hiking trip to The Himalayas in India. I was camped at a waterfall with steep hills on both sides. This means that sun time was as little as 6-7 hours and moreover it was mostly cloudy. I was carrying a Bose Soundlink Mini 2, iPhone 6 and a 5000 mAh power bank. I never ran out of power, besides I charged my friend's phone as well. It works like a normal wall charger when there is a full power sun. Maybe a deeper texture that doesn't allow dust particulate to shift and rub would be a better option I dunno, but I can't bring myself to purchase this product again if it starts to show signs of wear so soon.

I absolutely love this product, it works just as described, it charges your device so fast. But the one reason I cannot give this product a five star review is because after hiking 8 miles, I pulled the unit out to use, only to discover that the material that covers the solar panels has already shown signs of abrasion. This really bummed me out because after 8 miles in a backpack, just the smallest particles produced quite a bit of damage on all four panel faces. I can only assume that over time and continued use, the panel faces will have so much abrasion the panel efficiency will be decreased to the point that my phone will not be able to charge effectively.By D.Roccoli on July 14, 2017
