As someone that loves to travel I would prefer something a bit different:
1. Shorter cord, 5 feet is a bit long I think 1.5 feet is plenty. with velcro tie down
2. Wireless charging on top for watch and the like
3. 2 type c ports one of which is 100w capable. This would allow for laptop to charge on the 100watt type c and either my phone or power bank to charge on the other type c port.
4. I plug that is interchangeable for all the countries.
EDIT: I had to knock some points of as one of the (I bought 2) type c ports are very hit and miss and doesn't work properly. I've tried it with at least 3 different type c cables and it randomly stops charging. I gave up on using the type c port
It has almost same ports as powerstrip pad but in unbelievable size and also has better bottom rubber feet. I’m extremely happy with the purchase.
This could have been even better, if somehow they were able add a wireless charging pad on the top.
Highly recommend ✅
I received email that this does work on 240V except that stupid US government regulations do now allow that.
Maybe it is different for powerstips that it is for things like smartphone chargers and electric shaver and laptop chargers which can operate at both voltages. It is probably because this is not a converter and if you do plug it into a 240 V outlet the power coming out will be 240 for the AC plugs which will fry things that are not designed for 240 Volts.
The one con I can think of is the cord is attached and does not come off of the body of the power strip. However, the upside is the 5 foot cord seems like it will be very durable. It doesn't feel like a cheap product and seems like it will last a long time.
The cord is long enough to put in the middle of the room and stretch for a conference table and plug in my laptop, cell phone, tablet, and more.
The con is it is not as portable as I thought it would be. The cord is thick and durable but doesn't wrap around the power square as it stretches out in a bag and takes up a lot of room. The cord is heavier hat the power Port. It was not manufactured to have the cord wrap around the power Port to use daily as I would like to have had it.
Nevertheless I do carry it in my backpack and took out a regular extension cord. I was also able to remove 2 Wal chargers as the USB C PD port and regular USB ports allow me just to take wrapped up cords. I now carry my laptop and it's power plug with a 6 ft USB C to C cord, 2x 6 ft micro USB cord and one USB A to USB cord. Enough to charge anything's mg I need to bring. So by removing the extension cord and 2 wall plugs I lightened my load to make it all work out better.
I take this daily in my laptop bag and again while bulky I make it work.
I am looking to purchase one 2 or 3 prong adapter so I can use the power Port in plus that go straight in the floor and the angle plug wont fit. This is not a common problem for most people as they would use the wall plug. My local library has plugs in the floor though as well as some places I use my laptop have plugs that are on the side and no way to plug in the Anker Power Port. So a inexpensive adapter would work perfect and is cheap enough anywhere
I liked the Anker Power Port so much I purchased a second to use at home
Plus if you’re feeling kind you can let others plug in.
