Examples include free running, parkour, extreme sports, golf, basketball, tennis, and volleyball. For the latter 3 sports you probably tune out the music anyway as you may be too focused on the game, communication among teammates, or the sound of ball bouncing may be too loud.
If you're running on a treadmill or elliptical machine you should be fine, except maybe in really high speeds
For more sedentary activities such as weight lifting/training, light yoga, cycling on a stationary bike, miniature golf, etc you may not have this issue.
For high intensity sports/activities I would get a headset that has full control on the head piece itself rather than one that dangles on the cord.
Aside from weight training and other gym activities, i personally use this headset when eating breakfast/lunch/dinner alone in public or at work as the cord doesn't get in the way of my food.
Sound Quality. Slightly better than stock headphones you find with your smartphone. For the price, it's decent seeing that it's wireless and has a long battery life. Most of what you're paying for is the wireless convenience (or at least with a cord that's not tethered to an audio jack or lighting port)
Mic, like the sound quality is very similar to stock headphones. You are able to hear the other party clearly and vice versa assuming you have good cellular signal
Battery life is as advertised. Runs around 6-7 hours average full charge depending on volume and distance of your bluetooth device.
It is water and sweat resistant. It's probably not water proof so best not swim with these on or while in the tub.
Fit. Very comfortable minus the dangling controls. They give you a lot interchangeable ear buds to fit your contours of your ear. Even if you're highly active, the ear buds hold well on your ear
Controls. Yes, i give a lot of flack for the dangling controls, but it is very convenient as there's less hand travel compared to one that has controls on the ear piece itself. Button are spaced out where you won't accidentally mistake one button for the other or hit multiple buttons at once.
Storage. Each ear piece has a magnet the connects the two together. They give you a small pouch, but i recommend replacing it with a larger one as when you're in a hurry to get to your next destination or to bed; you may stuff it in half way out of convenience or simply just toss it in your bag or table. You should also replace the mirco usb charger cord as it's very short.
Syncing the device is very easy. All my bluetooth enabled devices was able to pick it up easily while paring
When turning it on/and off it makes this cool zoOOoom sound like you finding a hidden robot that powered up or down for the first time.
Overall, good bluetooth headset depending on what you plan to do with it
These buds delivered on all counts. I was absolutely not expecting them to sound as good as they do. With the included sizing tips, I was able to get a great easy fit, something I found more difficult with the X3s. Compared sound back to back with my QC35s in a quiet room and while the sound was more spacious and slightly more present in the Bose set, the bass and overall fidelity was comparable.
To be clear, I should not be able to say that a pair of $25 ear buds are even in a limited capacity comparable to the the gold standard Bluetooth headset from Bose. They lack the noise cancellation, a fancy app, the build quality and some of the sound quality of the QC35s, but I’ll be darned if they lack $325 worth!
I have not done a back-to-back comparison with the Jaybird X3, which I believe will seal and isolate better with the “comply foam” ear tips I use on them, but these Anker buds actually weigh slightly less and have magnets to keep them around your neck all day.
I doubt very seriously if anyone will regret this purchase. Do yourself a favor and pick them up.

UPDATE: No longer charging! They've only lasted 4 months, and now regardless of cable or charger, it no longer charges. For this it get marks down to 2 stars. These are still easily one of my favourite headphones I've owned but to be broken already is a shame.
To test this earphone I have installed call recording app and made a lot of calls to my wife in various conditions ranging from quite to noisy background, indoors and outdoors. Every time she said my voice is clear. Certainly there would bit noisy when you are in a noisy surroundings but the plus is that your voice would be clear. I later listened to all my recordings and found the voice clear and audible even in the tests where I spoke very softly.
My second big requirement was noise isolation or cancellation. These earphones come with isolation. I was a bit skeptical before buying it but I can tell you that the isolation works wonders. The ear bud that came fitted with it, fitted perfectly in my ear and lowered the background noises significantly. The isolation is very strong that it took me little time to adjust to that. While calling I do not feel comfortable with that much isolation where I hear my voice much louder so i loosen the ear buds a little (tip for you). The benefit of this that you start listening at much lower volume which is very good for your ear.
I use the earphone mostly for audio books so I need isolation which I mentioned earlier is very good and clarity. I can say from my extensive testing and usage that I am totally satisfied with this for my use. I also listen to music a little and found that the sound is very crisp and nice bass-y.
Battery life is ok.i expected better battery time. Since I used it extensively for testing and left it connected to my phone all the time, the battery lasted 1-1.5 days of usage which included standby time, talk time, music playing and few videos playback. I believe the battery is ok if not exceptional.
The earphone comes with 3 buds of each type (2 in total). 1 type of normal round buds and the other with an extra extension to offer increased grip. I used the one you can see in the product picture and found them very comfortable. I have wore it for extensive period of time and didn't feel tired or ache. Around the neck they site comfortably and lock with each other with magnet so they are secure and no chance of them falling off. They also come with a detachable clip and a small thing which I think can be used to tie the wires if they are big. But I found the size very right for me (I don't have a big neck :) ). The product is not heavy so you don't feel any burden on your neck. The left and right ear portions are very well built and look very decent when worn.
Pairing is pretty easy and fast. The controls are good. My only complain is that you have to give a little pause in between multiple pushes to increase/decrease volume. You cannot just keep pushing the button and expect the volume to change in multiple steps. In my other headphones, the buttons would play next track and you have to hold it for a while to increase volume (and vice versa for other button). But in these the good thing is the default operation of the button is volume and you have to hold the button for next track. The other way round is very inconvenient as you have to change volume more than changing the track and mostly i ended up changing track instead of volume.
All in all I am very very satisfied with the product and considering the price, I think it's a steal. Go for it!

I was a bit skeptical at 1st for the hooks, as I have never use it before, but Anker prove me wrong. It stays in ears perfectly and hold the headphone safe from drops. With Mpow and other brand, it drops every 2min and I have to rearrange it even though I had the perfect size.
Other brand had a bad microphone quality, where people hear me from distance, and I had to approach the microphone. This one is well made and I dont have to play around to get people hear me. It was a big concern because I often call with headsets.
Sound quality. Mpow make great headphone at small price, with a incredible sound quality. Where as Anker, this feels more like a calling/watching video kind of headphones. The sound quality is fine but far from great. listening to high quality music is a waste because it cannot go beyond that. Bass is little, present but not strong, but gets the job done.
sound quality 3.5/5
Overall this is still a very comfortable headphones that I will keep. it has good quality and long battery life, for everyday usage this is one to go. strongly recommend!
Sound quality 5/5
I realise these are sports headphones and i have used them for cycling but i also use them for work for calls, the only downside i have found is because i am quite a big guy ( 18.5" collar ) the cable isnt really long enough to have around my neck held together with the magnets when wearing over my polo shirt, so i have to have them inside against my neck, which is a niggle rather than an actual issue, a few cm of extra cable length would have made these perfect.
The only other issue i have is that the charge port cover doesnt sit flush on my set so i often catch it on clothing pulling it out from covering the charge point, now i havent used these in the rain yet but i would imagine this would be an issue if i did, i am going to contact anker support on this though and see what they suggest, no amount of bending it straight makes it sit flush so maybe i just have a duff one.
I bought these not for sports but general use around the home and shed, they haven't let me down with dropped or garbled connections on either my mobile and desktop computer.
I use a Gigabyte Brix as my desktop computer, it is located in a room downstairs to the back and I can wonder around my home including upstairs to the front bedroom without any drop outs.
I have had various makes and models of bluetooth headphones but these out rank them all both on price, quality and range. Connections on the others would drop out if the wind blew in the wrong direction.
Listening time is governed by volume and a low volume does give a good listening time.
The only reason for giving them 4 stars is that in the description they are stated as being 'Slim', they stick out as much as others.
I like that the earbuds have magnets which make them easy to store in the case provided, which is also of good quality. I've used these while weight training and running and they've held up really well, both in terms of water resistance and bluetooth connectivity with my phone. Battery life for the earbuds has been about 5-6 hours for me. The overall quality of the earbuds is great.
NOTE: I had an issue with the battery on my first device where after a full charge the battery would die less than 24 hours later with only 30 minutes or so of use. I reached out to Anker support and their customer service exceeded my expectations. They promptly sent me a replacement device, and I no longer have any issues in regards to battery. Thank you, Anker!
- Very comfortable fit in my ears, and offer different sizes of ear tips and in-ear hooks
- Decent sound quality
- Microphone for calls
- In-line volume and multi-function button
- Magnetic clipping around neck when not being used
- Travel pouch and charging cable included
- Cannot be connected to more than 1 device at the same time, you need to disconnect from one device before connecting to the next. I am not sure whether other headphones can do this but I have seen it on other bluetooth devices (e.g. a Jabra headset I use for calls, signficantly more expensive) and it's a useful functionality
- Range is not very big
Overall I would recommend these these as an affordable reliable bluetooth headset for everyday use.
The ear buds are fairly comfortable, although seem to hurt a bit after about an hour of wearing. I have tried the different sizes and this doesn’t seem to change, however they may just take a little getting used to.
The reason for loss of one star, they say they have 30ft+ range and I find they do cut out within that range with minimal interference however moving my phone closer to me really isn't that big a deal.
Love the different size choices and the magnetic (necklace) aspect, makes it easy to take them out of your ears when necessary without having to hang on to them.
The microphone could be better. You need to hold it close to your mouth for the person on the other end to hear you when you are talking. But I wanted these for the listening capabilities not the phone aspect so that is minor in my books.
Love the carrying case, it it small, compact but holds the earbuds and the charging cord easily!
The battery, although I didn’t time it i would say that at mid level volume they lasted around 4 to 4.5 hours. Pretty decent! And took about 2hours to charge.
All in all, at this point i will say they are probably worth purchasing.
The clips, not as sold on them. The one that tightens the ear buds works ok, the other one the clip it self, I cannot figure how to attach it to the ear buds with out damaging them.
So in conclusion four stars because I believe that these are the best you are going to do for this price point!
Edit November 2019:
I actually ended up loving these earbuds! They are awesome, the battery lasts what seems to be a very long time between charges! They do work better inside than outside for whatever reason there seems to be more interference with the earbuds when you were outside. I’m not sure exactly how long these last but I would say somewhere in the 4-6 hour range But I have never actually timed it! I love the magnetic aspect of them because I typically use them when I am working in my kitchen and I can stick them on to my fridge so that they’re easy to find the next time I want to use them! 100% would recommend buying these if you’re looking for a budget friendly Bluetooth headphone that works great!!
Edit July 2020:
I still love these earbuds! The battery life is amazing! The sound quality is really good they are still my go to pair of earbuds! Definitely worth every penny but I paid for them!
Over the last couple of years I have started seeing Anker as a reliable brand.
These headphones are between £16-18, so I really can't complain much.
Battery levels (it will shut down without any low battery warning)
Functionality for phone controls (like double clicking the middle button to redial)
Mic doesn't seem that great as I'm told there is a lot of background noise while in a quite room.
I would still highly recommend these headphones for anyone on the go.
Really pleased with the purchase.
I love them. Seriously. These are my 'leave in my jacket' go-to headphones whenever I leave the house. As long as I turn on Bluetooth on my phone first, these connect within a couple of seconds of switching on. Every time. No fussing about with connection settings.
They fit superbly- once they're in, they stay in for the duration. I have not tried running with these in, perhaps sweat would cause them to slip out, but certainly for walking around they are great.
Sound quality really is pleasing considering these are £15 Bluetooth headphones, and the basic controls on the inline module are fine for me needs. I have not used them for phonecalls so can't comment on this.
Battery life is also great, really lasts a long time, and recharges in about 60-90 mins. I am seriously considering buying another pair for when mine finally pack up or I lose them!
I picked these up after buying a couple others in the same price range that were not well suited for music. After reading some reviews, and knowing that the couple other Anker products I've bought in the past were decent quality, I took a chance.
So far so good. With a little bit of tweaking the equalizer, the sound quality for the 80s/90s Rock (think Great White, Megadeth, Guns N' Roses) that I listen to is pretty good. As good as the best quality wired earbuds I've ever owned (which again, weren't exactly high end). The magnetic clasping is nice; I'm not at all worried about losing these if I take them out of my ears for any reason. They use a standard usb connection for charging which means I can charge them at work without having to remember to bring a cable back and forth.
