bought both the AAA and the AA because Anker usually makes a superior product. However, I've left most of the batteries in the same packaging they came in, in a temperature controlled room, out of sunlight and away from any heat sources. Less than a year later, and over half of both boxes don't work out of the packaging.
We tried multiple batteries in different devices, flashlights, remotes, mice and keyboards. None of the Anker batteries worked, yet when I changed them with batteries that were known to be low, most of the devices worked with the almost dead batteries. Out of desperation, I found some duracell batteries that were over three years old, just sitting in a bag of stuff from when I moved and they worked beautifully (and lasted longer in the device with high usage).
Knowing how much I spent on these batteries and how little use I got out of them, I wasted my money. I should have just bought the expensive ones, at least I know those would work.
I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER DURACELL OR ENERGIZER BATTERY EVERY AGAIN. PERIOD.
These batteries look great, they come packaged as if precious cargo.
These batteries are also slightly heavier, indicating an higher energy density.
Based on the very high quality I've seen in many other ANKER products I've purchased over the past year or so (excepting their colorful, but death-prone cheap mice), I'm expecting very much silent pleasure from knowing, FINALLY, that my batteries are going to work and NOT LEAK OUT AND RUIN MY GEAR.
I WILL follow-up after some months of use.
But their utility is another story: As other commenters have complained, these batteries do not have a great shelf life, and their life in actual devices leaves a lot to be desired.
Which begs the question: Why did Anker even try? Was this just another cheaply-made white label product mass manufactured by a separate company, one that allowed Anker to slap its logo on the hardware? It wouldn't be the first time, but you can tell other products at least pass Anker's rigorous quality control measures. How this one slipped by is beyond me.
I'll be sticking with the Kirkland brand from here on out.
