Overall, I love the device, but there are a few glitches that are not okay and before returning, I want to check if there is a quick fix available.
When streaming directly through the built-in netflix app everything works fine, but when using screen mirroring, there is a very long latency (almost a second between moving the cursor on the Macbook and the projector). In addition, the connection breaks repeatedly during the streaming (feels like a buffering problem, sound and video would stop, similar to when youtube cannot load fast enough). Another issue is the app on my phone (iphone 10), which generally is a great idea, but it often crashes and it is tedious to connect (needs to reconnect to the projector after phone turns to sleep mode, which in the best case takes about 10 seconds, but unfortunately often crashes the whole app. So this is very annoying when e.g. just wanting to change the volume).
The most important issue, however, is is that the auto keystone correction would only correct vertical keystone, but not the horizontal. I can manually adjust it when switching auto mode off, but I payed $500 for this projector to a large part because I want the full auto keystone correction.
Before use, I installed the device update and it says it's running the latest version now.
Please let me know how we can solve these issues. I'd love to keep the projector, but if there is no quick solution I have to return it.
Many thanks in advance,
Jonas
And keep in mind this is a projector not a TV so it should be in a dark place to have a good, bright, and clear picture.
And white wall or white projector screen is a must for bright picture.
Any way i took some photos as you see with 3 levels of the light and the last picture with no light.
Thanks & regards

Pros:
-Easy to adjust display. It lets you change the X and Y axis tilt of the screen individually and move the corners independently if you are displaying at an angle, interface for this is intuitive.
-Brightness is good.
-Small, packing it away and setting it up is easy and quick.
-Quiet fan, hardly notice it, esp once sound on show is going
-Speakers can get quite loud with good audio quality.
-Picture looks very good, more crisp than I would expect blown up on our wall with that resolution.
Cons:
-Native apps for Netflix and Hulu are just bad. The interfaces half work with the normal "remote" mode and on the 'mouse' mode or phone app, it is just a pain to use anything. Not very user friendly, I use my firestick connected to it instead, suits me fine.
-Gray lighter box around your image. I don't really mind, but some people commented on older models that you get a gray border kind of outlining where it is projecting to which becomes bigger if you adjust the display smaller. Once I am watching, don't notice or care.
Native app interfaces being bad is why it loses a star for me, but even if I HAD to use them, it isn't a dealbreaker for me. The fact I can just use my firestick lessens the annoyance for me, if I couldn't use anything else I would like it still but it might get a lower score.

1. The capsule max comes with an ac-in charge port while the capsule II comes with a USB-c which is worth the 60$ alone.
2. You can screen cast your iphone but you can't stream any copyrighted contented on the projector. so No apple store movies/tv shows. You have to connect an apple tv to the HDMI for that. Not a big deal but this annoying once you think about it. Apple being anti consumer in this case.
3. The actual battery life is closer to like 1.5 hours while watching using a projector not in eco-mode unplugged. Not a total deal breaker but I still had to buy an external AC outlet battery to use it while camping. This goes back to point 1 where I wish the charger was USB-c so I wouldn't have had to spend an extra 200$ just to have proper functionality.
4. It's impossible to find a good carry case for it. There is an official case by anker but its strangely hard to find in Canada. This makes it difficult to take the Max anywhere, which really defeats the purpose honestly. I just used to original box for a bit, but now just swapped out the ravpower battery case I had so no to break it. I'll probably just buy the capsule II case and put the charger in a different case. So I'll have to carry two cases just to use the projector, which is a pain because I wish there was a case that fit both the charger and the max at the same time.
5. There are positives with this projector, if you want to just use it for netflix its good and simple. You just download netflix, login and there you go. You can even download netflix movies and take it on the go and use the projector without wifi. The main streaming apps available are amazon prime, youtube, and netflix. Kodi is also available but its slow and a pain to use with the app or remote.
6. If you want to use this projector for anything other then netflix, be prepared to lug around 3-4 different cases plus extra cases and batteries to get full use out of this projector. Oh, and don't forget the projector screen! if you don't have any access to a large flat screen area you'll have to make one, I used trees without branches, some rope, and a white bed sheet.

Was it worth it? No not really. I wish I could return the max and get a capsule II instead. Then I wouldn't have needed to buy the first two products. Skip it, not worth it. The capsule II is better in every way with better functionality and more user friendly charging totally worth the extra 60$.

Bad = Techies at Nebula are less than stellar as mine was defective - would never turn off and stayed in “standby mode” no matter what I tried!
Tip. Great easy return policy to Amazon and upgraded to Capsule Ii. MUCH better interface and so far no tech issues and works as promised. Crossed fingers. So if you have a bit more money, trust me, dont get the MAX and upgrade to CAPSULE II!

I purchased this device from a USA supplier and had it shipped to Australia. This has limited some access to on board applications but not to a great extent.
I sought out the Max due to it being 200 ANSI vs 100 ANSI (to the Neb1) and having extended battery of 4hrs play compared to the 2 Hrs of the Neb2.
It runs the most up to date pure android of the bunch but not Android Tv. I have no experience with that OS so cant compare.
The build is attractive and a good shape with small footprint. This allows good positioning in most places, especially in constricted areas. The height also allows it to be higher on the projection surface when viewing close up, ie doing the dishes and having it on the bench beside you - it sits up higher than some of the other non Neb form factors would.
When I received the unit, I was initially worried that the device used an external power source rather than a USB C connection. (I work away and always have USB chargers). This issue I found not to be a big worry as the unit actually has a bigger voltage input and will charge faster. Choice of an Australian wall plug would have been nice however.
Initial use of the device was beyond expectation. It puts out a great picture with decent sound.
The top of the device houses the onboard controls which can at times be a bit of a pain when accidentally touching it whilst moving the device and is only intuitive after some use. It's not a terrible issue however, as long as you are aware of it. The response to the onboard control surface is quick and needs only a light touch.
The included remote control is comfortable and intuitive but does have some limitations with some apps. All up it is a nice little remote. For best control the Phone based Android App is the way to go.
As mentioned, some of the native apps are USA-centric and I had issues with using the native Spotify app as the Australian service doesn't seem compatible. I can get this service from my phone instead of using the dedicated App as a work around. Also, in Australia, the Stan app is not designed for the device so I have to use HDMI input cable for copyrighted content. No Biggy as the BT speaker fills this purpose also. For someone with access to Americentric providers, there is plenty to choose from however it would be nice if it was more global in it's providers. I will try to download more Aussie apps from the play store to improve this in time.
Connectivity wise it is good but initially I had issues with casting video from my phone (Note 9). I contacted the online chat assistance and discussed this and at the same time requested the Google Play Service code and downloaded it. Nice. This gave me access to Play, Photos, Chrome, etc. I had issues navigating the Play Services, in particular, the area to punch in my password would not scroll to the area to hit enter. After trying to log in on a few of the apps, I found one where it would allow input - I cant remember which one but once I got it in all was good. I downloaded Kodi and that was a wicked win. I have thousands of movies for Kodi with all fan art and ancillary files to make it a real winner.
After all this, the casting from my phone worked well. I'm not sure what made it become more stable but alas it has reduced a need for phone to decide HDMI cablec as in the mean time I had purchased a USB C to HDMI cable which also allowed good stable casting from the phone also. This however allows the use of Samsung DX which with a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard makes productivity possible on the road.
The USB input work good with a USB stick but my actual hard drive would baulk every five to ten minutes and need to be reset to the movies prior position. I think this is possibly a power supply issue. USB input navigation is just as you want it.
I am yet to use the Aux input jack... Or is it a head phone jack?
Using the device is great. Its small and able to be transported easily. The auto focus is great. The horizontal angle projector adjustment also great however could be improved by adding a setting where you can chose to be casting the picture on a vertical (a wall) or a horizontal (ceiling) surface. Also the usage could be improved by allowing the screen size/angle to be fine tuned whilst playing video, rather than having to do it before or after interrupting the screening.
On a potentially negative note, I did have one scare where after removing the Max from my bag (where it was well protected - neoprene stubby holders fit around it snuggly), it had a black area on the screen when projecting. I panicked and ordered a refund (on the last day allowed) but later that night when I tapped it gently, the mark was gone. I can only assume there was a spec of dust in the device on the internal surface somehow. This would have had to have been from manufacture due to the care I have shown the device. Anyhow, I will get back to them if it becomes an issue again under warranty.
With a small tripod it projects anywhere or use it without on flat surfaces. It is basically a TV you can take and use anywhere that is dark enough. Even inside during the day with brighter light at close range ie with about a 30 cm (1 ft) wide projection it throws a ripper visual.
I have downloaded an app off Play (airdroid) to transfer files from my phone to it also. I'm looking forward to finding out other options from Play that can enhance the usability. I tried using a VPN app (wang) to bypass local wifi restrictions at work but that has not worked well at this stage. I have not loaded any games on it yet but casting from the phone works well to play games the size of the whole wall.
I love this little machine. I take it every where and treat it like a newborn. I have a sheet on the backyard fence for summer movie nights, we sit in bed and watch the big screen on the ceiling and when on the boat I can put up an A3 sheet and cast to that in many places. As mentioned before, I can do the dishes or get dinner ready and watch the Mandalorian on the wall right beside the sink. This is a Best buy. All up Awesome kit.
Pros-
Small footprint.
Good batt life.
Great pic.
App upgradable.
Cons-
Needs a few software tweaks for adjusting the projection.
Ability to change app layout is limited.
