Top Customer Reviews
Excellent charger, little bigger than I would like to carry around, but might be worth taking on a trip, vacation or camping, for that extra juice! Charges at 5V/2A and gives an output of 5V/4.8A (between 2 ports) Unable to charge the PowerCore while it is charging other devices.
Maybe this is a precautionary thing for safety reasons as it might get too hot doing both.
States that it is 15,600 mAh
What I Actually received during this test was 10,455 mAh (see pictures, test was done by using Portapow (Premium USB + DC Power Monitor)
I fully charged the device for 24 hours and then used it to fully charge 2 devices and 1 device 20%
-Fully Charged Galaxy Tab 2 GT-P5113TS (7,000 mAh) Actual 6253 mAh
Keep in mind that even when a device shuts off due to low power it still has a little charge left, also when batteries degrade over time they don't charge to their Max capacity anymore...
-Fully Charged Nexus 7 (2013) (4,000 mAh) Actual = 3,432 mAh
-Charged 30% of Galaxy S6 (2,550 mAh) = Actual = 770 mAh
Total mAh = 10,455 before the device complete shutoff and would not charge the tablets anymore…
flashing blue light warns you when it's running low, it still charged for about 20 minutes after that
Efficiency varies from device to device, length of cables and other factors can contribute to efficiency loss as you lose energy in the transfer… Also be aware that I did leave the devices (tablets) on and running while charging, possibly adding to the loss of efficiency by a few %
This I have been assured is acceptable since market average for external batteries is around 60-70% efficiency and this Anker PowerCore 15600 is equal to about 67%
I’ve seen other devices lose as much as 40% vs this device at 26% (lower = better)
I received this product for test and review purposes
Please see attached pictures as well; the temperature of the PowerCore was only slightly warm even when charging 2 devices for several hours…
The hottest temperature was 94-95 F at the USB ports as you can see from the pictures, and this was after charging 2 devices for over 1 hour, it seemed to remain this temperature or get cooler after that time.
Both the Galaxy Tab 2 and the Nexus 7 charged at full speed or very close to it…
All and all, excellent charger but I wish it was a little smaller… But the higher the mAh the larger the device at this point in time anyways!
I have updated my test and results to reflect the more accurate numbers versus estimated since I purchased the Portapow (Premium USB + DC Power Monitor) I was able to run more accurate tests
honestly best customer service support a man can have
after the product's arrival, I will review
I become a big fan of Anker's products and I have 3 power banks from them and charger and cables
They do an awesome job but unfortunately, this power bank does not charge anymore. as usual, I plug it to wall charger but it does not pass the first LED light and stay there. at the same time, my other power bank fully charged. I will try to contact them for some help and update
Recently it began to stop charging on itself even if the phone is not full and there's still 3/4 left in the powerbank. Contacted Anker, will update when I heard back.
It's HUGE! Both the size and capacity. I have been using it to charge my LG G5 3-4 full cycles without having to recharge it, and it's still shows half full. It's a bit too big to carry in pocket daily. Probably the 10000 mah version is a better urban carry option if you take public transportation. Well, for me I have QC3.0 charger both at home and in my truck, so really no need for it. IF I have to use power bank, it means I'm out of reach from any power source. So I'd rather have this one with me. This is definitely King of Camping.
QC3.0 is real, charges my G5 at a faster speed. Absolutely love it.
A minor drawback is the charging time of this. Although it can charge other device fast with QC3.0, recharging this powercore is a pain. It only use a micro USB and charging at a slower rate (well, maybe standard rate 2 years ago, but definitely slower than QC3.0), so it can take up to a whole night to be fully charged using a 2.4A USB charger. If this power bank can charge itself at QC3.0 speed, it's gonna be a bigger hit.
