Having a workstation and connecting external components is critical in my workstation. I have tried multiple USB 3.0 hubs and they ALL ended up either going to the trash or being returned. At first I thought my iMac had an issue not connecting to the other hubs properly causing me to do a reformat and fresh install of OSX El-Capitan. After the reformat and upgrade to OS X El-capitan, my previous hubs non-powered seem to not connect properly or had some type of issue connecting my equipment. Having an iMac 5K is limited to 4 3.0 USB port so having a reliable USB hub is essential for my needs to connect all my external gear.
After reading the positive reviews of Anker's USB hubs and great customer service prior to purchase, I pulled the trigger and made the purchase via Amazon. The Hub is PERFECT in every way. Size fits nicely in my workstation. The benefits of charging my Nexus 7, Nexus 5 and iPad Air 2 is sooooo convenient. Connecting my cameras and any external gear without drivers is not a problem. My external drives transfer info quickly with no problems at all compared to my previous hubs..

Not recommended with the Raspberry Pi

This seems like a nice enough hub, but my intended use was to run my Gridseed miners from my Raspberry Pi 2. I am sorry to report that this is not compatible with the Pi and the miners. When I plug in the miners I get errors that the USB cannot be addressed and the devices will not be assigned. The error appears to be power related when searching out the errors. Anker has a good reputation with users of the Pi and with miners, but in this case it appears this product falls short. Just wanted to give folks who are looking for a usb hub for the Raspberry Pi a heads up that I would not recommend this model. There is another model that does appear to be verified to work. So my new Anker hub that just arrived is useless for my intended purpose. I hope you find this helpful so you don't waste your time and money. I am sure this product works well with a different intended audience.

Update 03/03/2016: I have updated my rating on this product from 2 stars to 4 stars. To my surprise Anker contacted me regarding my issues with the Anker 10 port USB hub. They confirmed that this product does not work with the Raspberry Pi and that they were sorry about the issues this has caused. They indicated that they will be updating the product description to inform customers that this usb hub will not work with the Raspberry Pi. That was good to hear. I had heard Anker made good products and was recommended by many people. I have to say this USB hub does appear to be a well made and a nice hub. But what surprised me was that Anker provided a full refund for the hub due to the problems I have had. Now that is customer service. I will certainly be looking at Anker products going forward based on this experience. They went out of their way to take care of me on this issue. So don't buy this to use with your Raspberry Pi, but otherwise it appears to be a well made product that the company actually backs.

All Ports function without fail I chose the 7port USB ...

All Ports function without fail

I chose the 7port USB 3.0 with 3 Power IQ because I knew I would need to charge a couple of things while also transferring data. This hub is big enough to accomodate even the biggest gaming enthusiasts with many peripherals.

The fact that this is a poweree hub sets it apart from its competitors, meaning I can have a lot of draw on the hub with no burnouts/faltering. Currently I have a large USB mic (Blue Yeti), Gaming keyboard (Corsair K70), Gaming Mouse (Logitech G502), Two 2TB External Hard drives, two phones charging RIGHT NOW, 2 Wireless Xbox controller recievers and an extra cord for when I need to insert a flash drive. Not to mention the whole thing is aesthetically pleasing too.

It really succeeds in freeing up ports on the back of my PC and moving them to my desk. 100% worth the price, Anker and Aukey are dependable brands and they will definately see my business again after knocking this one out of the park.

To connect an external hard drive, wire keyboard, Logitech mouse receiver and laptop cooler usb power, I bought this.

Pros,
Design is very solid and simple
Additional power source(adapter) provides putting more than 4 usb-based devices.
Reduce power loads on my laptop.
Led light indicates what ports are used as a data source or not (e.g., led light of the port for a laptop cooler is not turned on.)
Data transfer speed is very close to the original speed when i put the USB to my macbook.

Cons
Power adapter is little big than what i thought.

Poor Power Supply Choice

I have some other things from Anker that seem pretty good. I bought this from them because of their decent reputation. When I first got the product I was a little surprised to see the ratings on the power supply. It said the input current was 100-240Volts 1.5Amps and the output current was 12Volts 5.0Amps. In a normal household at 120V that's 180watts in gets you 60 watts out. That appears to be terribly inefficient. I didn't worry too much about it and installed it anyway. For most of the day I could hear a weird noise that wasn't there before but I couldn't figure out what it was. I finally figured out it was the power supply brick to the new USB hub. It was making a noise like a toy ray gun when you hold the trigger down.
