Also, cord packaging was 100% frustration free. Just a little blue and white box, and a velco strip keeping the cord neatly wound.
Overall, this cable was exactly what I was looking for: a shorter USB-C cable that will not fry my computer.
I have collected some data for this Anker USB C cable (and the original adapter) using the Accubattery app. I have attached screenshots from two separate charging instances. I am very satisfied with the results. The average charging speed is about 42% per hour. The cable is able to support an average charging current/voltage of about 2A/4.2V. Note that the original accessories are rated to support upto 3A/5V. I have also used other USB C to USB A cables to charge and the Anker cable performs better. Great product!
In terms of the cord itself, it feels pretty sturdy, but not so rigid that it's hard to roll up or plug in, and the velcro strap attached to the cord is a nice touch. We'll see how long they last, but for now, I'm pretty happy.
Very disappointed because I have several 6 foot versions that have worked great for years.

There seem to be quite a few different types of USB C to C cables. I am impressed with the detailed product description given by Anker - this one supports the USB.org approved fast charge protocol called "Power Delivery", which seems to be the most popular with new devices (it certainly works fine with my Google Pixel phone).
Note that for data transfer, it only supports USB2 data rate (480 Mbps). You need a different cable if you want USB3 data rates (search for "Anker PowerLine USB-C to USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 Cable (3ft) with Power Delivery" if you want an Anker version like this one).
At first it looked great, flexible and resistant. But after a few weeks of just plugging/unplugging just once a day, it started to fail. The connectors look loose and bent. I can't seem to understand how did this happen as I've used it only at home, it's poorly built.
I've ended up buying another one from a different brand.
I was initially surprised at a rather thick cable, but the reason was soon apparent. I have not been able to find a single technical fault with this cable, and it appears durable in both connectors and casing.
It is a comfortable wire to insert and remove from devices, and has formed solid connections to all devices I tried it with.
The quality of this is really superb, and in the long term I really expect this to be a significant saving over cheaper more commonly replaced alternatives.
Having said this however, I have got through two of these since the cable isn't braided or reinforced in anyway, therefore it can be damaged a little too easily for my liking.
The packaging was minimal yet a pleasant unboxing experience, you don't expect much from a cable unboxing usually since it doesn't come with extra accessories, but simplicity is the name of the game for Anker.
Anderson customer service have been in touch and offered to replace the cable. Have changed by review to 3 and shall update again once been using the replacement cable for a bit.
