One suggestion for those new to this process. When it instructs to remove the protective coating and rotate the protector onto the surface of your tablet, be sure to QUICKLY press the center to start the adhesion process. I hesitated a couple seconds and adhesion started from the corners in. This caused large air bubbles in the center as you'd expect! I used the stiff bubble-remover to "squeegee" the bubbles to the edge and off, but it was more time-consuming that it would have been if I'd been on the ball. Even so, the protector is now bubble-free and looks just great.
One final note, the original product I received was cracked and broken across the middle and in two corners. I have no idea how this happened as the box it came in was unmolested. It almost looked like a returned item that somehow was sent right back out. No problem, though -- Amazon was great as always about taking the product back.
This protector has been on for all of 3 hours now, so I'll update this review if it doesn't hold up over time. I've been pleased with all of my Anker products so far (USB hub, USB wall plugs), though, so I expect it to hold up well.
I bought a Sparin protector. I installed it with the case on, and it dropped in place, perfectly centered. The case edgeserfectly aligned the glass. It took 5 minutes. If you have a iPad case, 1st see if the Anker (with the film on) fits inside the case overlap. If it doesn’t, I wouldn’t even try to install it.
Update: After leaving a one star review, Anker contacted me and sent me a free replacement. I installed it with my case on the iPad , and it went on perfectly. Ankor’s Customer Service is on top of things, and certainly performed professionally by contacting me, and not me contacting them. I have now raised my experience to 5 stars.
The key is to be patient and take your time. I wore latex gloves (drs gloves) so I wouldn’t smudge my screen after I cleaned it. Even after using the lint tape provided I still managed to get a speck stuck under the glass. It’s around the bezel and hidden under my case so it wasn’t a big deal.
I found the card given was useless for me when trying to get air bubbles out. I just used my fingers with the gloves still on.
It fits nicely in my case and I lost no sensitivity for my fingers or my Apple Pencil. There is no lag either. For the price, this is a great investment.
I'll try another product.
I was contacted by the seller and offered a replacement screen protector. I accepted the offer, of course, and had better results with the replacement. My only problem with the outcome this time was about a half dozen specks of trapped dust. They aren't visible when the Ipad is illuminated and they don't affect operation.
I'm partly to blame for the less-than-perfect installation, for, after all, Anker didn't install it, I did. I don't hold Anker harmless though, because their advice to proceed with the installation in a steamed-up bathroom isn't practical. It's not practical because at age 70, I have to wear reading glasses for close-up work. And reading glasses inside a steamy room just adds to my visibility problem.
And then there's their inadequate method--a diminutive piece of adhesive paper--to remove any and all unwanted, wayward specks of dust before the screen is applied. Not well thought out, that procedure.
I offered to Anker, via email, what I think could be a possible solution for the (dust) problem and they said they would forward my idea to...whoever they forward ideas to.
I would upgrade my rating to four stars, but since Anker, not unlike just about every other manufacturer of screen protectors, insists on giving the lame steamed-up-bathroom advice, considering how much that nonsense annoys be, the best I can do is three stars.
