Galaxy S-8 - nice addition to the toy box!
I got this on a whim. I have an S8 and often charge my phone at my home office desk, by my bedside, and when I travel for work. I thought that reducing the clutter around my desk would be a good thing so I found this wireless charger. First, let's be clear, there is still a cord needed to run from a block to the charger, but the included micro-USB cord is shorter than most charging cords meaning there is less to hang all over the place. Once it's plugged in (and the small blue light goes on indicating that it has power) all you need to do is place your wireless charger ready phone on the pad and BAMM! It's drawing power. I was worried that it would charge slower than I wanted but so far the charging speed seems on par with a wired connection (USB C). I have an Otter Box on my phone and it seems to charge just fine through the case. I took it on a four day trip and it was really nice to set it up next to my bed at the hotel and just plop the phone down on it at the end of the day.Having said all of that there are two gripes I have. The first isn't actually the reason for the 4 not 5 star review since the instructions clearly say that it won't work if you have a pop-socket or magnetic plate on the back of the phone. I have the plate on which means that I need to take the case/plate off to charge it. Again, this is not the reason for dropping the star. While this comes with the pad and the micro-USB cord it does not come with a block. I have now purchased a few things that come with cords but not blocks and I simply don't get it. Do manufacturers think we have an infinite number of blocks sitting around just waiting for new peripherals? This seems short-sighted.To recap - works well, charges fast, easy to use, works through an Otterbox, solid build (travel solid), doesn't come with a USB block. I would purchase this again (in fact I might just to have one at the desk, one by the bedside, and one for travel)

The first isn't actually the reason for the 4 not 5 star review since the instructions clearly say that it won't work if you have a pop-socket or magnetic plate on the back of the phone. I have the plate on which means that I need to take the case/plate off to charge it. Again, this is not the reason for dropping the star. While this comes with the pad and the micro-USB cord it does not come with a block. I have now purchased a few things that come with cords but not blocks and I simply don't get it. Following my initial review, Anker got in touch with me and arranged for another wireless charger to be sent. This arrived and I am very pleased to report that there were no issues. The packaging was undamaged, the wireless charger was in a sealed bag and the cable was neatly tied up - showing no signs of use (see additional pictures on green cutting mat). Everything works perfectly with my iPhone 8, this is exactly what I expect from Anker products and I am very pleased.

I am a big fan of Anker products. Unfortunately my experience purchasing this wireless charger was not great:
- The packaging was in poor condition.
- The base of the charger was dirty and dusty, the cable supplied was not neatly tied up but haphazardly jammed into the box.
- The cable supplied does not work but the charger works with another cable I had.
It is clear this item had been opened/used before. This experience was very disappointing and unusual for Anker - hence 2 stars.
