really only get about 2 hours out of these, wish the battery life was a little longer.

**update**** seller contacted me and attempted to replace the earbuds, I declined, but admit I like the customer service. Still using this pair, because it is a great deal for the price. But if you listen at high volume dont expect more than 3 hours tops out of the battery.

2nd update: dispite my efforts they have insisted on sending me another set without me having to return the current set. Blown away by customer service and I am giving 5 stars now.

Received these yesterday. Have been listening to them all morning and I'm really impressed.

I've spent the last several months with the older version of these, the Anker SoundBuds Slim Wireless Headphones, Bluetooth 4.1 Lightweight Stereo IPX5 Earbuds with Magnetic Connection, NANO Coating Sweatproof Sports Headset with Metallic Housing & Built-in Mic(Black) , listening to them every day.

My first impressions of the new ones is the sound is much richer and, at least to my ears, produces a little more believable low end sound because of it. Initially I thought they were slightly quieter than the old version, but realized I had set the iPhone equalizer to 'Rock' for the old pair. Turning the EQ off brought the volume of the music up substantially. With the new pair, the EQ isn't needed as they seem to reproduce the music more as it's intended without it.

One thing I will say, try the different ear tips to find the ones that seal 'airtight' in your ear canal. This 'airtight' state is what produces the low end sound and feeling, without it the sound becomes brash and tinny.

I've only had them for a day, but for the cost, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again should I need to. I'll update my review later should something change.

They just stopped working after a month and a half. Superb bass, build quality is amazing the sound to die for. The bass is amazing and the phone quality is also amazing. It just stopped working like many others leaving bad reviews. Anker has always been my go to company for things like this and their battery packs are amazing. These headphones would be 5 stars if they just kept working. It’s a shame

Update: Anker reached out to me and sent me out a new pair of headphones. I’m very happy and it goes to show you how much anker cares about their customer. I’ve always been a diehard anker fan and will continue to be one. I hope this pair lasts because it’s sooooo- good. The bass is amazing and it does not drown out the lyrics. I love this headphones. Update 3: Anker made it right, so I thank them for that and raised the star rating two stars. However I still can't recommend this particular model due to it failing after less than a week. Too much of a headache to go through even if customer service is great. If you want a solid pair go for the wireless Curve, or the Verve (which is wired, but excellent).

Update 2: Suddenly stopped pairing with anything. I've tried all the troubleshooting I could find. Blinks blue as if it's ready to pair but won't connect to anything. Won't connect to my phone or PC, and both were working fine. These were made too cheaply I think. Anker is usually terrific..this is very disappointing.

Update 1: Had to subtract stars. I've had the SoundBuds Surge for a few days now and my left ear feels very sore and painful after using them for a few minutes. I notice at the end of the day my left ear especially is painful to the touch. The earbud opening is just too wide for the ear holes and it feels like it's stretching them out. It doesn't matter which size earbud tip I use because it's the actual hard plastic nub that the eartips attach to that is the problem, not the tips.

Original 1st day review:

I'd been waiting to get a pair of bluetooth earbuds until good quality ones were available in the $20s and I think I made the right decision. These work great so far, and I have no reason to believe they will not be durable since they do feel sturdy. Time will tell.

One suggestion for Anker: Please offer medium-small rubber eartips. The smallest one is too small and the two mediums are too big. I never thought of myself as having small ear openings as I've sometimes used larger tips on wired Panasonic earbud models that I've used for years. The ones that come pre-attached on the Surge make my ears feel like they're stretching, while the smaller ones won't stay in my ear.

2 pairs, very good quality

After owning three separate pairs of earbuds, I've come to know these very well. I lost the first pair, and was pretty torn up because they were great earbuds. I especially loved that the control on the side manipulated volume independent of the phone volume, so I had twice as accurate volume control, they clipped onto any collar or jacket, I could use the buttons on YouTube to pause, play, skip or go back, and that just wearing them without playing music, they basically act as noise cancelling earbuds.
I ordered a second pair, after searching and finding them $10 cheaper than most wireless earbuds, and encountered a glitch where I couldn't turn them off. Fortunately, after draining the battery and charging, I was able to use them just fine, yet Anker still sent me a replacement pair anyway (Seriously, what great guys!)
So I have 2 pairs of high quality earbuds which I'm incredibly satisfied with

Great for the money. Pretty good call quality, 8 hour battery life, and strong bluetooth connectivity. Only negative is that after over 3 hours of use they tend to feel a bit uncomfortable. Definitely lightweight and they do not move around much when running with the on. The magnetic capability is very nice to pop them off and wear them without risk of falling off. Also, they do not stick out much when wearing them.

I'm torn writing this review as the earphones are excellent on price, sound quality, comfort and ease of use. But right now i'm on my third pair since December. Maybe I've just gotten a bad batch but my first pair started fine then started to crackle so much I couldn't enjoy any audio anymore. My second pair started fine then started to freeze on a constant blue light or a constant red charging light and just became unresponsive, the only fix being wait a day or so for them to run out of battery, so they could be charged and start again.

So now i'm on my third pair.

Important notes to add, when these are working fine they are excellent earbuds for the price you are paying for so definitely worth a punt.

Customer service have been nothing short of Excellent, I've emailed them when each pair has had a problem with them promptly responding, apologising and sending me out a new pair straight away.

Overall it's definitely softened the blow and I really do like these earphones.

Quality earbuds

I bought these based on the fact that I had previously purchased an Anker Soundcore speaker and that I wanted to try out a bluetooth headset. I was getting tired of my 3.5mm jack headphones breaking all the time.

So glad I bought these. They feel like quality out of the box and I found them easy to wear and comfortable to the point were at times I forgot they were in my ears. Despite this I feel that only the most vigorous shaking of the head would dislodge them. The sound quality is particularly impressive. Bass reproduction is excellent but doesn't overwhelm the mid or high ranges giving one of the best headphone experiences I've ever had and certainly not at the 20 sterling range.

Can't really comment too much on the durability just yet, but the build quality feels like it'll last especially now that I don't have a cable to break. The buttons on the little remote are rubber coated and again while I haven't tested the water resistance, I very much doubt rain/sweat is going to be an issue.

Call quality was decent, one friend didn't know I was on a headset despite being in the windy outside. Battery life has been very good so far. If they're idle for long enough they'll turn themselves off, which helps.

In summary, nobody actually prompted me to write this review but I felt compelled to do so because of how impressed I am. Well worth the money.

Well made, and well thought through, these ear-buds are excellent value for money. With heavy use, over several days, I can say that these ear-buds are a small marvel. The Bluetooth connection is simple to establish the first time, and has been 100% reliable in maintaining and re-establishing the connection (even at 30+ feet, and between rooms) and the connection. The sound-quality is not high-end Hi-Fi, but is more than adequate, being warm and rhythmical. Acoustic music plays especially well, and the reproduction of full-on upright bass is a treat. The buds fit securely (with sizing alternates included), and the clip (not shown in product images?) safely fastens the set to clothing. A nice feature is that the buds contain magnets, and snap together to avoid tangling.
I bought these ear-buds together with the Anker Astro E1 external charger, and the Anker SoundCore Bluetooth Stereo Speaker, and have been very impressed with the build, performance and value-for-money of each of the devices.
In short, this is one of those cases where the manufacturer really deserves a positive review.

These earbuds are inexpensive and to begin with seemed like great value for money. Sound quality was ok - nothing special but fine for a morning run. Build quality seemed good and the magnetic function was useful. The earbuds fit my ear well and didn’t fall out while running.

After a few months however the unit stopped working. I tried turning them on one morning and nothing happened. I thought perhaps I hadn’t noticed them running low on battery so I put them on to charge for a few hours, but this had no effect - the unit had clearly failed.

Since I got on well with them and there was nothing else in the price range that seemed much good, I bought another set, hoping the first were just a duff pair. Unfortunately not, as I had exactly the same problem with the second set after a couple of months.

Cracking bit of kit!

I'd been a sceptic of Bluetooth headphones (who wants something else to charge!), but after being tangled up in knots and having earbuds after earbud die on me I gave these modestly priced (£15.00 on flash sale) ones a try.

Great result! Good sound quality, food connectivity (can get about 15 meters from my phone without any breakdown in sound). Good sound cancelling, and better yet they ACTUALLY STAY IN MY EARS WHEN RUNNING!

I guess the only downside is 6 hour battery life: your phone tells you how much juice they've got, and on a long coach ride or a work day it is pretty depressing to have to whip 'em out to give them a charge. They only take about 45 min to charge though, but you can't listen to them whilst they do...
