Original Review:
I tried this for a couple of weeks and decided it was not the mouse for me. The biggest reason was that it is too big for my hand. I have small hands and I found I was always having to adjust my grip to click or use the scroll wheel. It feels very nice but the actual smoothness has proved to be a problem. My hand is always slipping back and I find myself constantly adjusting my grip. If it were smaller I think I would really like it.

Updated Review: The company contacted me about how I like the mouse and I told them what I posted above. They were very understanding and offered to sent me a different mouse for free. I received a new different model in less than three days.

This is the new mouse I was sent:
www.amazon.com/Wireless-Anker-Ergonomic-Vertical-Adjustable/dp/B018LR04B8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1489187715&sr=8-4&keywords=anker+mouse

I love it. The mouse is just different enough to offer a small feel for my hand. I can reach the buttons and scroll wheel easily without having to think about my grip. As a result my accuracy is much better and I can use it in Photoshop which is essential. So if you have small hands and want to have your wrist and arm at a more natural angle this is perfect.

Update May 2017: Anker customer service was awesome and provided me a replacement. Four stars for now - if the scroll wheel remains problem-free for a year, then I'll consider bumping it to five.

Old: Like others have said, the scroll wheel has become glitchy. One swipe on the wheel is enough to result in the web page (or app you're using) to erratically spazz up and down. This is probably the most-used part of the mouse for me, so it's incredibly frustrating to deal with this.

My ranking for wireless vertical mice:

1. Evoluent. Great functionality with extra programmable buttons, nice feel, good on the ergonomics but second to Delux. Overall my favorite though because of the extra buttons - I'm a power user and love the extra functionality.
2. Delux. Best ergonomics, great buttons, good price. I love that I can rest my palm on it.
3. Anker. The buttons take too much pressure, which puts strain on my hands. Otherwise great, especially for the price.
4. LB1. Overall cheap feeling, bad buttons.

As I work in the IT field, I work on computer almost all day (and night.)

I have developed some wrist pain and should tightness and was first told by my chiropractor that using ergonomic devices may bring a significant improvement on those issues and it did.

I had purchased 10+ mouse devices over past 2 years for myself, family, and friends. By far, this mouse has worked for me the best after getting used to it.

I had given an one star review initially for this mouse as it stopped working after a simple drop from my desk to the floor. (The mouse sits taller than normal type of computer mouse and I knocked it over while trying to grab a cup next to it.) I didn't bother to call the customer service because the cost is not worth for my time waiting on the phone, talking to the rep, and return shipping if I had to send it back. This was just my assumption and a learned behavior from the Microsoft support on their product.

After the accident, I still decided to buy it again because of the product itself being absolutely outstanding and costs 1/3 of the copay to chiropractor for a single visit. (Business point of view, it was probably the biggest mistake the chiropractor made because it did improve my condition better over anything else and I stopped going.....)

However, I got a call from Anker all of a sudden and was told that they are sending me an replacement!!! Amazing customer service.

The service rep told me that this product is under warranty and it covers the mouse I had broken by my mistake and gave me an option for refund since I already bought another one, but I thought it would be nice to keep an extra in case this model gets discontinued for some reasons.

So far, I have purchased 9 Anker products on Amazon including audio cables, batteries, usb adaptors, and etc. I always thought Anker products offer a very good value for a real deal pricing. I also learned today that Anker has a great product support that really is too good to believe. So, I am changing my review to 5 stars.

After a full day’s use of this Anker Ergomouse, I have the following observations to report.

First, for the price, it’s nicely made, uses a readily available battery, has a pleasant surface finish and tracks accurately, although I find that it loses the signal once in a while and nothing but a power switch “reset” will cause it to reconnect.

But, this may be due to the fact that my office is a complete electronic sh*tstorm, with at least a dozen wireless devices competing for bandwidth at any given instant. I have ameliorated this problem, by using a USB extension cord and placing the receiver closer to the actual desktop.

Of course, the most important factor, hand position, is much more “natural” and I agree that it seems to be much better on the wrist. I have been doing a bunch of work around the house, painting the new shed, and doing a major yard spring trim and clean up, so my hands are somewhat tired and sore, so I can’t really attribute a few aches and pains to anything but that. Matter of fact, it seems as if the mouse allows for a little relief.

I do have a few gripes about it though. The biggest one is that I find the left mouse button too hard to push. It requires just a tad too much effort, and therefore requires that the muscles be tensed just enough to involve some of the palm muscles to “squeeze” the mouse, whereas the old Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse had the silkiest and most compliant button I have ever had in a mouse. I realize that designers have to trade off soft buttons vs. inadvertent activation, but MS got it just right. Unfortunately, the wheel in the MS mouse has become sticky, and that has created an ergo challenge of its own.

Next, and this is a personal issue, the hand position is such that when I comfortably grab the mouse, the side of my deformed crooked right pinky fingertip drags on the desk just enough to be very annoying. On the conventional mouse it drags too, but more on the pad tip, which is more robust and less sensitive. This mouse makes it drag the part by the corner of the nail, and in one day of use has irritated it.

But, I am trying an interim solution this morning, which has, so far worked well and isn’t too hard to implement. (picture attached)

Next, I cannot find a mouse driver file for this mouse. Although it works flawlessly in its natural state, even allowing for DPI adjustment, Windows thinks it is my old Laser Mouse, and therefore does not allow convenient tweaking or programming of custom functions like the MS Mouse does. I have gotten used to the wheel button activating Windows’ “Flip” function, and this mouse doesn’t do that.

So, a couple of other things remain to be seen, like does it work well with Eneloop batteries, as they run a slightly lower voltage than alkaline, and how long do the batteries actually last, as there were some reviews that complained about battery life.

All-in-all, for $19 ($15 on Anker’s website) it’s a win so far.

I've had one of these for years that I paid more for and have been very happy with. Needed an additional one and was glad to see the new lower price. Received it, plugged in USB receiver and put in batteries and worked with no additional steps. This is my regular desk mouse. I highly recommend it, especially at this price.

May 6. Changed my review to 1 star because it stopped working right after my 30 day return window ended on April 30. Contacting Anker to see how their warranty service will work. This is very disappointing. I bought this because the one I bought two years ago also stopped working but I thought that two years was OK for the life and it was worth buying. 5 weeks is not. I would recommend not buying this at this time. I will update this when there is any type of follow up from Anker

May 8 Contacted by Anker who asked the usual questions about order umber, serial number, etc. Then directed me to replace batteries, restart computer and try in another machine. They then said if that didn't work they would issue a refund or replacement, whichever I choose, just give them my address, etc. I quickly wrote back and said thanks, please issue a refund. The next day I received an email saying they were shipping one out to me. They also said if I needed to escalate this to follow this link...I quickly escalated it and wrote back how - in the email they sent me - it said a) they would issue a refund or replacement whatever I chose and b) my response right above it asking for the refund.
May 10 Just got notification from Amazon they are shipping one out to me. I think the Anker customer service have a problem with the English language. When/if I receive it, or a response again - I will update this. Wow. Bottom line is its a good product when it works but do not count on Anker customer service for anything, in my opinion. I know I won't be buying anything they make from here on out. I would suggest you do the same. there are too many other companies and products out there to choose from these days.

Since then...received a refund for my purchase. And Anker sent me a new one that works fine. I hope it stays that way. Pretty bumpy ride but I'm raising my rating just because the CSRs actually did try to help.

After using this mouse for just two weeks, There are just a couple things to be aware of. It will take a little getting used to - especially left clicking, since the position is more vertical. I was fine after about four days of use. The angle of the mouse does make it easy to navigate around the surface (or mouse pad). The mouse is very light weight and has a nice matte texture to the surface. My hand did not get fatigued while using it for hours on end.

One thing that I find an issue with is its height. I found that, after taking my hand off the mouse to type on the keyboard, I tend to knock over the mouse when I reach back for the mouse to put my hand on it. It happened about 6/10 times in a given day. I know it sounds strange, but I had to start being conscience of the mouse height until I got used to it. My hand was just catching the tip.
This is not a big issue, but just wanted to point it out in case it may really bug some people :). Another interesting feature it has is a sleep mode. After a few minutes of no use, it goes to sleep. To wake, you click a button. Moving the mouse will not do it. Tis too, took a little getting used to.

For the price, I found this to be a great purchase and solid product. Easy to install (just plug in and install the two AAA batteries). I gave it four stars for the height design (I feel they could have rounded off the pointy tip - just my opinion). But I feel it will help with hand fatigue.

Great concept at a great price, BUT needs a serious overhaul with surface texture to aid in control. The mouse wanted to walk on you. It constantly creeps out of your grip. I added the tacky tape to the mouse and it is now perfect( see pic). I would have been willing to pay another $15 so I would not have the constant feeling that the mouse is walking out of my hand.

I'd rather be using the Microsoft Ergonomic 6000 mouse, but Microsoft inexplicably stopped making them, and their replacements are not as well shaped and have auxiliary buttons that I accidentally press a lot (so I'm constantly getting a "back" command on my browser when I don't want it).

So I tried this one. It's not as good as the 6000, but it compares well against the other Microsoft ergonomic mice, particularly the Sculpt, which is the worst for misplaced buttons.

It's the most vertical ergonomic mouse I've tried, but it wasn't hard to get used to. My grip with my right hand felt pretty natural as soon as I touched it.

The auxiliary buttons are a bit low, and I do occasionally press them accidentally, but not nearly as often as with the Sculpt. The tracking is fine and the scroll wheel is very smooth.

It has a switch to save power, though I rarely remember to turn it off even when I'm going out of town. A battery set still lasted several months - not as long as the 6000, but not bad. It probably manages that by its power saving mode, which it enters after not being used a while. It takes a click (not just a move) to wake it up, and that does take some getting used to.

This is a tough one to review. I have been using computer mouses for well over 25 years now and this is the first vertical mouse I have used. That being said, it took me a full day of using this mouse at work to get used to it. Once I did, I was web browsing as normal, if slightly slower/worse than before, but ever so barely noticeable.

The main reason to get this mouse is the health benefits and really, I don't know how try it is. I don't feel any better. I did notice that after an 8 hour day my hand almost seems to be using different muscles so I feel aches in different areas. Perhaps aches is a little strong, I feel that I can easily tell different muscles have been used while using this mouse. Is that better or worse? I don't know. I don't plan on switching back to my old mouse, but as far as replacing every mouse in my house and office with these, well I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon.

The mouse itself is smooth, responsive, and glides easily over my mouse pad. The build quality is very good and I would call this a premium product.

On a side note, I really wish the arch would light up with a blue LED or something to give this mouse a bit more character.
