About the Author
Meghan Riley graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland and immediately pursued her lifelong passion for the written word. Her debut novel, Anna, presented itself as a way for Riley to inspire teenage girls to expand their interests beyond the typical teenage quandaries, ultimately encouraging females toward an interest in science. She is currently hard at work on the next book in the Starseed Series. Riley lives in Wilmington, North Carolina.

I did waffle between 4 and 5 stars because it takes awhile for the action to really get started. For almost the first half of the book, Anna is just a normal teenager who has some odd freckles showing up on her arm. Her conflicts are pretty typical stuff: figuring out where she's going to school, crushing on a boy she's been tutoring, and helping her mother deal take care of her younger brother. That being said, however, the writing is good and Anna is a well developed and realistic character. I would definitely recommend this book to most YA readers.
The author did an excellent job of weaving a tale of a teenager coming of age and coming to grips with the reality of her life. The story was very interesting and easy to follow. The pace was quick which made reading even easier. I really loved the end of this book (sorry no spoilers.)
Meghan riley did a great job of developing her lead character and each of the supporting characters. I found them very believable and easy to identify with. I like the way she continued to grow the characters throughout the book.
I really enjoyed Anna by Meghan Riley and I highly recommend it to all readers.

I enjoyed reading this so much that I will definitely be reading the next book in the series when it hits the bookshelf.
The story is well written, lots of conversation, only the amount of narrative that is needed for background. I was able to read this rather quickly, and I loved this story.
Now my problem is waiting for the second book to come out for the Kindle.
Great book, very talented author.
