About the Author

Anni Bodmer was born at the beginning of World War II in Berlin, Germany. She was profoundly marked in her early days by the devastating consequences of dictatorship. After a degree in teaching, her wish to discover other countries and cultures brought her to the United States. She became an American citizen and took an active role in teaching young children at a Chicago North Shore community, during more than 30 years. A second marriage brought her to Switzerland in 1994, to the French speaking area at the shores of Lake Geneva, with an opportunity to become familiar with yet another culture and language. Throughout her life, Anni has written poems. She is an engaged Christian with what she calls an open mind. Several visits to the Holy Land have left her troubled about destructive attitudes and behavior she saw in the Middle East, which seem to be spreading more and more to other parts of the world. This and her unfailing spirit of optimism inspired her to write her first novel, Anna's Ring, a fascinating story of love and hope in a hostile environment. Anna's Ring: I could not put it down. The story line races along and ties in all the wonderful characters, and develops each person so well that you get into their minds and hearts. Very sensitive about feelings. An even handed portrayal of a difficult situation in a tense part of the world. Shows the potential good in people.

I just finished reading this book. It is an incredibly touching story about innocence lost, love found and lessons in how to give and ask for forgiveness. Anni Bodmer has a wonderfully accessible way of discussing weighty themes that are as relevant today as they were sixty years ago.

I just finished Anna's Ring and found the characters unique and interesting; the plot invigorating; and the story exceptionally well-written. There's great turmoil in the story that truly made me pause and think.

I couldn't put Anna's Ring down. What A wonderful story! The characters became my friends. I didn't want the book to end! This story shows us how pain, anger & revenge create unforgiveness in human hearts. This state of unforgiveness causes people to be hard, unfeeling and even cruel. Anna's Ring shows us the way to forgiveness (through God's help) that brings restoration, peace and hope to those who choose it. Thrilling!
