Annette Mardis writes contemporary romance with a lot of heart, a touch of humor, and sometimes a little mystery. Her Gulf Shore series is set in a fictional west-central Florida tourist destination that's managed to retain its small-town feel. Many of her characters are finding love and career satisfaction at the local aquarium, which also has an active marine animal rescue and rehabilitation program.
In Gulf Shore, you'll feel the sugar sand under your feet, the sea breeze ruffling your hair, and the unrelenting sunshine on your shoulders. You'll meet alpha men who are sensitive enough to cradle an orphaned baby dolphin in their arms and smart, sexy women looking for an equal partner.
A veteran newspaper journalist, Annette holds to the adage "write what you know." She's a native Floridian who fell in love with dolphins watching Flipper on television. Now, she volunteers at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, where she educates guests, leads tours, gives presentations, rescues sick and injured marine life, and helps sea turtle hatchlings make it safely to the sea. She also immortalizes her pets in her books, including Ozzie the African gray parrot, affectionately known as a "little boy in a bird suit."
In addition to The Shore Thing, Shore Feels Right and Shore to Please, books 1-3 in the Gulf Shore series, Annette is the author of the woman's fiction novella "Getting Her Money's Worth."
