I've been using this for camping meals because it's easy to make after a long day of being active. What's important to understand with pasta made from beans or legumes, is that you don't need to cook it nearly as long as pasta made from wheat. The instructions tell you to cook for 4-6 minutes, but that might still be too much if you don't want mushy pasta. First of all, make sure the water comes to a full boil, then add the pasta, give it a stir, and after 3 minutes of cooking, taste test a few of the spirals. In my experience, the spirals are usually soft enough after 3-4 minutes and I drain the water. Immediately after draining, add the milk and/or butter and the cheese powder and stir gently, so the spirals don't stick together. I also add extra grated cheese and heat everything through on low heat until the extra cheese is melted. Enjoy!

I see others says it was mush, it isn’t. You have to cook lentil pasta a very short amount of time sometimes less than the box says. I never go over 4 minutes. The flavor is amazing, I can eat the whole box on my own. Nicely cheesy!

I love lentil soup and I love Annie's white cheddar mac\cheese but the lentil pasta is horrid in this. If I ever have lentil pasta again, it will be in lentil soup only!!!! Who cares about ease of use or value if it's not palatable!
