"Another Chance" was more than a page turner for me. Adam's writing affected me personally, emotionally, and spiritually. But that is not all. I knew practically from the first paragraph, or even sentence, she is different and that the writing style reminded me of that of another writer, an acclaimed writer, I used to like to read and that I admired very much, though I haven't read any of her books in years and that is Ann Tyler. It is Tyler's genius to make the mundane spellbinding that sets her apart and this is the distinction I picked up on also in Diane Adams' "Another Chance." Ann Voskamp, quoting someone important whose name I can't pull out says that if you gaze long enough at the commonplace it becomes uncommon. There is no boring predictability about the prosaic in Adams' characters and it is that small sense of adventure into their minds and doubt of outcome that leads one on. The main reason I gave this book five stars is because of its innocence coupled with promise of greatness in its writer. A century ago many writers were christian although their message was usually more subtle though deeply spiritual, especially the poets. Then reason, science and cynicism reflected in great writing coupled with depressing messages. Christian people of this generation who loved to read had to choose between the older classics or bad writing with a good message. Thankfully that is changing as gifted christian writers like Diane Adams and others are beginning to surface. In my opinion Adams is a gifted writer who will only get better so long as she doesn't cave to the marketplace. Art should never have to bow to bucks but it often does: that is the culture of our day as it has been in others. In short, I highly recommend this author and this book.

I liked this book very much, a lot of romance and suspense to keep me from putting this book down. I bought the entire series, which I rarely do. Hopefully each book will keep me looking forward to the next and next books! Very good author!
I found the storyline unique. I had just tried reading 3 other books from other authors and ended up deleting them after just a few pages. Then I started this one and couldn’t put it down. I will, for only the second time, follow this author!

This book was somewhat interesting and I kept reading because it had the potential to be a good story. However, the author spent too much time on characters that didn't seem to add much to the plot. I enjoy reading stories that alow you to really get to know the characters and and want to cheer for them. I didnt feel a real connection between Anna and Michael. Maybe the writer could have expanded more on the conflict of emotions Michael and Anna had in pursuing a relationship under such circumstances without focusing so much on all the jealous and controlling women. Speaking of which the story got a little weird for me with the teachers living in women's dorm with so many rules and the administrator having authority in their interactions with each during their personal time. It seemed as though it was a type of prison for the teachers as well. There were also loose ends like what was the purpose of Bruce, the bad guy? it just left you hangjng. Other reviewers seemed to have enjoyed the book and I didn't think it was terrible but having just read books by Bonnie Blythe and Kristen Heitzman (hope I spelled their names right) who are excellant at developing characters, I found this lacking. I may return to this author in the future to give her - another chance. :). I couldn't reisist.

Some books are enjoyable to read, but are forgotten as soon as the next book is picked up. Some books are uncomfortable to read and yet easily forgotten while some books are uncomfortable to read and difficult to forget. Fortunately there are books that stay with you for a long time and warm you within. This book fits the last category for me. I'm going to be reading this one again and again.

When Dr. Michael Grant and Anna Brown meet, each have the impression they know the other--had they met before? What follows is a series of blunders, mishaps, secrets unrevealed, misinterpretations, fears, regrets, distrust, the past, and even the ridiculous to keep them from a relationship they really desire. How they overcome all this makes this a good read.

The part I like best is when she sees her goofy hat sitting on the bust of Socrates. Then Michael takes Anna outside and he shows her the garden full of pansies. I think I just melted inside and knew everything would be all right. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I did.

As a Pastor I don't often recommend Christian Romance books. Either they are too perfect in their portrayal of a relationship to be unreal or they are barely above the trashy Traditional Romance. Someone asked me my opinion of Mrs. Adams book and I was pleasantly surprised when I read it. All of the characters from the Female and Male leads to the smallest character were real and believable as people.

Another review said that it was a bit preachy and "puritan" I disagree. I loved the fact that Anna knew what her convictions were and lived by them. The dialog between her and several other characters were great ways of sharing faith in a way that was unoffensive and yet real.

I loved that both main characters struggled with faith and relationships just like "real" couples do. This book was a great read and a good look at true Christian relationships. This was the first Diane Adams book I read but it won't be the last.

A pleasant change from murder mysteries but I found the fact that the main characters were supposed to be so honest, had they just came out with the truth instead of avoiding it the story would have been over in no time.
