I initially gave the wifi Anova a 5 star review. We love what it produces! Unfortunately, only a few weeks later, I'm dropping my rating due to quality / design issues and poor customer service. 2nd UPDATE - RAISED TO FOUR STARs AFTER ANOVA finally responded and sent out a replacement and return postage for the defective unit. The second unit has been performing beautiffuly for over 6 months. My initial frustration has been forgotten. The recent improvements in the phone app have made the WiFi feature even more user friendly. Overall, we're glad to gave the Anova.
Initially, we found that we had to angle the Anova on the pot just right so that the circulating blades didn't contact the metal housing. As you can imagine, it makes noise and will reduce the life of the motor. The problem (see my uploaded pictures) is that the shaft is not centered. It looks like it was designed to be centered, but then they added a metal hose clamp to attach one metal rod to the heating element (see pic). This configuration pulls the whole shaft at an angle and makes it a very narrow opening on one side for the circulating shaft / blades. The clicking has gotten intolerable with use. I contacted Anova and days later got a response that they wanted to bring my unit in for diagnosis. I sent them a response with questions and days later, no response. ***Update - one week later, Anova finally responded and sent a replacement. The new unit has worked as designed for several weeks.

This works perfectly for me including the Wi-Fi. It heats water rapidly and never varies from the set temp. I cut a hole in a 12 pack cooler. I can put my frozen steak in the cooler with ice and water. About noon time I start the bath with my iPhone. I have perfectly cooked streak for dinner.
