We were needing some screws to install items in our new concrete block garage. These worked out great, easy to use and hold weight well so far. Best if you have a hammer drill to make the pilot hole. Comes with 100 screws and 5/32" masonry bit.
They break very easily which is a pain because you're left with a missing hole when hanging a sign. Make sure you clean the hole out really well. Compressed air if you have it or just run the drill back and forth a bunch. Still possible to break them so try not to drive the screw in with one shot using your drill. Best to drive them in by hand, but again, still might snap.
If it's your first time drilling into masonry as it was mine, be absolutely sure that you've drilled at least as deep as the screw will reach (better to overshoot than undershoot) before trying to insert and tighten the screw. If you don't, you will effortlessly strip the shallow hole when the screw tip reaches the end of the hole.
I like these better than the original name brand concrete screws. They screw in tighter and they're a good value. Use the drill supplied and tighten the screws by hand with nut driver for the best results.
Screwed in my concrete garage walls fairly easy. Only thing I'd change is different options for the colors. I like that it comes with the drill bit, great value!
i've ordered two types of screw from Ansen. they both arrived the same day i ordered them, it was miraculous. the price was great and they are exactly what they said they'd be. simple but perfect and i appreciate this. i will order from this company time and again.
