but there are some drawbacks.

Unfortunately, 9V NiMH batteries only have about 1/3rd the capacity of a standard 9V alkaline. While that doesn't matter so much for my needs (it just means I swap batteries out more often, and I have plenty of warning that the battery is starting to run down) this could be a problem for uses where the equipment draws a lot of current--such as wireless mikes.

These batteries aren't really 9V, they're only 8.4V. Depending on what they're being used for this may be an issue. Most equipment doesn't care, but I believe paintball guns (among other things) really want a 9V battery.

The Ansmanns are slightly larger physically than a standard 9V. Again, this may make a difference; I've run across equipment where the Ansmanns just won't fit (though the same equipment is also picky about alkaline batteries). If most standard 9V alkalines are a tight fit, it's unlikely these will work.

If you need a "true" 9V battery, or size may be an issue, the Powerex 9.6V battery is a good alternative. They're slightly smaller than a typical alkaline 9V battery so size isn't a problem, and they put out 9.6V so they will work in almost anything. The one drawback is that they don't have nearly as much capacity as the Ansmann batteries.

I am a musician and have been using two at the church I play for every weekend and two at home in my rehearsal studio for at least a year and with the ones at home, one is not holding a charge for more than a half an hour. The other is still good for beyond the 3 hour rehearsal and jam sessions.
Don't be fooled by the seemingly low 250mah rating. They hold a charge and keep me powered up far longer than other rechargeable batteries that I have tried and been sorely dissappointed with, especially how short lived they were before I had to discard them. I will say about 3 months. These are far superior. The way I discovered them was to ask the tech department of the most known mic manufacturer. They recommended these and one other brand. I got these and never looked back.

These are great batteries. I use them in wireless mics and have had NO issues with them at all. Once you charge them, they really hold a charge. It's been 3 weeks and I have not had to recharge them (although I did recharge them after 4 weeks because I didn't want them to die on me lol).
Avoid the ones available in stores and fork out the extra $$$ for these -- esp. if you have wireless microphones. You'll be glad you did. These have great power -- and more power than the store-bought ones from the likes of Duracell, etc.
