Bitmain’s 3rd generation Bitcoin mining ASIC, the BM1384 provides significant improvements over the previous BM1382 chip. Hashrate per mm2 at voltage 0.75V has been increased over 20% while reducing power consumption by 30%. This improvement is the result of months of hard work and investment in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

a) you're going to pay to wire money... my bank charges $60 for an international transfer
b) Bitmain releases them in batches... usually 1-2 a month... so it won't ship until that next batch is released
On the plus side though, the price from Bitmain does include shipping and holy crap, it showed up from HONG KONG in three business days! Crazy... I can't mail a letter across town in under four days (no exaggeration... the town 30 mins north of me has taken upwards of 22 days USPS).
Now, let's get to why you want _this miner... we'll start with a disclaimer: nothing I say here will matter if you're not paying for your electric usage... however, for the rest of humanity that gets a monthly bill, your biggest benefit is: electric cost.
Power supplies come in Bronze, Silver and Gold... that's 30% efficient, 20% and 10%... what this means is that, if this unit uses 600w of power (it's 590 I believe but let's keep the math easy), with a bronze power supply you're going to be drawing (charged on your bill) for around 857w... the other 257w is lost to the world... at an average of 10 cents per KwH, this is costing you an extra 2.5cents per hour, every hour of every day... with a 20% and 10% unit you would draw 750w and 660w respectively.
So, this answers three things:
a) what is my cost versus the power supply I get
b) why would I want a more efficient (and more expensive) power supply
c) what size power supply I need... which is dependent upon how efficient it is
Next, let's delve in to cost per Ghs... at around $0.41, it's the 2nd lowest miner I've found... I won't mention the miner that gives a better price per Ghs because it's so much less efficient in power usage, you'd screw yourself to buy it.
Some people have mentioned the fan... it's insanely loud... like, if you put this in a room, you could not have a conversation... if you had this in your bedroom you will face a divorce in 48 hours... it's stupid loud. So, I put mine in my basement :) Barring that, buy these two things:
fan power adapter: http://www.amazon.com/3-Pack-BuyCheapCables%C2%AE-Molex-Power-Adapter/dp/B00M7GVDME/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1423695709&sr=1-3&keywords=molex+to+3pin
Replace the fan... use the adapter... you're good to go... PAY ATTENTION TO THE AIRFLOW DIRECTION OF THE FAN!!! Have it blow inward, not outward... and before you order two and think you'll do a "push/pull" on the system, no, it doesn't work. Don't waste the money.
I have three of these running along with an S3 and I produce (on average) 0.1 BTC every other day. It's weird... I charge $80 an hour for my tech services but I'm so much more excited over that damned $12 a day that I ever was over what I do for a living :)
I have placed 500 mBTC on my phone wallet and I'm taking it to Chicago with me this weekend (Feb 2015) to see where and how I can spend it... this is gonne be a good time :)
I would be leary to purchase from this seller. Note, though that I didn't contact him over this and he may have been willing to replace it, I just don't need the hassle.
I have the AntMiner set up with an EVGA SuperNOVA 1300G2 ATX12V power supply.
I put it on a shelf for cooling from the bottom and top.
I don't use a fan.
To Monitor the electricity being used I have a P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor. I got it for about $10.
The monitor is kind of useless. I wanted to attach it to my iPad but realized I could just monitor the miner from my laptop.
Currently, I am in the CEX.IO mining pool which has been going great. I am running my miner 24/7.
This miner is working even better than advertised.
The has rate is about 1.18 TH which is phenomenal for the price.
From running it 24/7, I've made about $50 in a few weeks.
