The sense of movement and the suite of abilities come together in a way that is above all, fun. I think that someone would be hard pressed, or a jaded contrarian, not to find 20 Bucks worth of fun out of the game. The bones are more solid than most looter shooters and if they could ever get the rest of it to work this game could sprint to an all time classic in the genre.
If your looking for adventure look no further! I see some people are leaving bad reviews, listen if you don’t have patient, and you don’t like to grind to level up, this game isn’t for you! This game is design to be an open world, grinding, hard work, gaming experience!
The game play is beautiful, from the picture, background, voices, and character design! You will have endless hours of battle with this game! And if you love grinding and putting in that work for amazing items, this game is for you! Definitely a must have.

If Anthem was just a game that was released with little to no fanfare, anticipation or build up, it probably would have done better as the expectation interests of people like me wouldn’t have been so high. This game was billed as transformative when it was being developed- I even think they nicknamed it “Dylan”, as in Bob Dylan, in part as an homage and also because they believed it would be that influential. Well folks, I hate to break it to you- it’s not even Justin Bieber- it’s more... Stryper. That is not to say it’s terrible- I really enjoyed the flying, messing with my mech, and exploring a beautifully rendered but mostly empty world for the first few days of playing- if I had purchased this as a $5 rental for five days I would have been quite satisfied and happily returned it. But I DIDN’T pay $5 for this; I paid $79 for it and let me tell you if you pay even $24 for this you are making a mistake. The concept is not fully cooked, the story is... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and the actual end of the game sneaks up on you with no rhyme or reason and hits you right in the mouth as if to say “loser!” because of you bought this you ARE a loser. I am a loser for having bought this. I had grand designs on this game being so awesome that I could convince my middle-aged grown man friends to buy it; we would play it together and go on epic adventures together like we did with co-op Gears, Borderlands, and Halo before- but the longer I played the more embarrassed I became about how laughable this plan was, for if I ever recommended this game to them they’d never listen to me again. But I can’t one star it- parts WERE fun and I did finish it- but it was absolutely not worth what I paid for it, as it consists of some of the most repetitive, grind-y gameplay I’ve ever encountered with absolutely no payoff. If you can manage to get a copy for free, it might be worth a few minutes of your time if you really dig repetitive grind-y games- but honestly there are SO MANY amazing games out there right now for so many systems and PC why you would ever want to spend valuable gaming minutes on this is beyond me.
