I started using Anthony's nutritional yeast almost a year ago, when I switched to a plant-based diet. My B vitamin levels were a bit low and I didn't want to take pills, so I tried the yeast flakes. Their ingredients don't have unnecessary chemicals in them, and their B12 is made by natural fermentation, NOT synthetic or an animal source. They are delicious! They have a very mild cheesy flavor, and I sprinkle them on anything that I would typically put cheese on; salads, pasta, potatoes, chili, pizza, certain soups, hot dishes, even popcorn! The 1lb bag lasts me quite a while, and compared to others, I think it's a good price too.

It contains 60 cal./2Tbsp. and 8 g. protein/2Tbsp., plus 11% RDA of dietary fiber. Also NO fats or cholesterol. I read that it can be used effectively to flavor popcorn, but haven't tried this yet. It would make popcorn a good low-calorie snack but with good flavor.
