However, seller response on to the return request was almost instantaneous. Not only they sent a replacement that arrived in just 2 days (unlike the original package that took 2 weeks+) they didn't even ask to return the damaged item - very sensible as item has been damaged beyond any usage or repair and it saved me useless shipping charges.
Now about an item itself. It works great. The only trick when applying is to align it very precise upfront and make sure the tablet surface is totally (and I mean - TOTALLY) clean. No dust, no finger smudges. Even minuscule particle creates an air bubble that's impossible to get rid off.
The effect of applying the protector is stunning... in some scenarios. Gone are finger smudges that plaguing the tablet experience. Gone is glare that kill your eyes during any prolonged reading.
However, there is a fine visible grid that makes an image grainy. It is not a problem working with texts, spreadsheets and even web pages. However, when looking at high-end photos or HD movies the quality degrades noticeably.
I use my tablet mostly at business situations and this screen protector is a perfect addition. However, I also use tablet to preview my raw photos sticking SD card from the camera directly into the tablet (Toshiba Thrive + RAW file viewer = perfect for photography). In this situation this screen protector might be a double-edged sword: glare being gone is a big plus but adding the grain is a big minus.
The HandHeld recommends starting at the camera end, and that's a good suggestion - the Skque doesn't give you that option, as the tear-off tapes are at the other end. Once installed, these HandHeld (and the Skque) look and work excellently. By the way - the HandHeld that I received had the tapes for removing the installation films reversed; removing the one labelled "Remove first" was actually the one that had to be removed second. After I screwed up the protector, trying to get it to stick to the glass (about 5 minutes), I gave up and called them. They very nicely apolgized and are sending me TWO to replace the ONE that was mis-marked. Good people to do business with.
However, I may get a pack of Fujitsu protectors, if they'll fit, for next time.
I have applied screen protectors to smart phones and touch screens for over 3 yrs now. i've never had so much trouble as i did with this.
i pulled off the factory and screen protector and installed this and in less then 30 seconds it had crap stuck to it..used a razor and removed the "specs" that were almost like grains of sand.
got it on and all smoothed out...turned on my Thrive and noticed it was completely foggy and distorted my pics. i set it aside fo rthe night and came back the next day to what looked like bubble wrap on my screen. overnight the screen developed minuscule bubbles all over it.
and the "stylus" didn't even work all the time
so much for giving the underdog a try...save your money and get something that has a warrenty with it.. if your going to spend $300 or $400 on a tablet..don't trust a $10 (including shipping) POS to protect it..
