I purchased this book because I have suffered from Fibromyalgia for over thirty years and I am always interesting in learning new things about how to help reduce my inflammation. Most of the foods recommended in this book are pretty common knowledge, and of course, most people already know that eating a lot of processed foods is unhealthy. There was really nothing new, here.
My greatest concern, and therefor the reason for my two star rating, is the unsubstantiated medical claims made in the book. The author claims that every disease and disorder is caused by inflammation. There is absolutely no scientific evidence to support this claim. Further, the author talks about how doctors tend to only treat symptoms with medications rather than trying to get at the root cause--inflammation. Not only is that is also not true, I fear some people may try to self-treat through diet, alone, instead of seeing a doctor, and I worry that this could result in tragic consequences for some people. Although the author does not attempt to steer people away from seeing a doctor, I feel the diet=good, medications=bad argument is a negligent one.
There is some good basic information in here, but I'm afraid the misinformation outweighs the value of the good.

I found several contradictions in your book that concern me. One such contradiction is where you recommend healthy oils you mention Canola & not butter. Then you mention Canola among unhealthy oils. Canola is a GMO product and should never be eaten. Butter is a healthy fat and could assist in preventing Alzheimer's and other mental disorders as healthy fats are needed for brain development and functions. Dr. Christine Northrup has a blog explaining the benefits of butter. I also think more about gluten free products and what can be used in place of gluten flour would be very helpful. I'd also like more information on why one should consume a clove of garlic daily. That sounds scary to me as I thought eating that much garlic was toxic & dangerous.

Unlike the typical diets, Anti Inflammatory Diet doesn't promise illusions... but it is actually an eating plan for life. This great book is full of recipes, tips, and advice to help you heal your body naturally.
Reading the book and doing the diet is very easy to follow, since there are no strict meal plans, the Anti-Inflammatory Diet provides plenty of flexibility. You'll simply have to adjust your regimen to adhere to the key principles of the diet: plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lots of fish or fish-oil supplements.
Very useful, healthy and highly recommended especially for people with inflammatory conditions as well as healthy people who are looking for a healthy diet.

I gave 4 stars to give it the benefit of the doubt. I have never read this book, I ordered it on a whim. I'm sure it's a good book because I research everything I buy!

In the last few years I have noticed stuff joints and pain all over my body, when I go to the doctor all he says is your a diabetic you have to expect this. What? I discovered with my own research I had a gi tract infection the doctor didn't even want to test me. I insisted, the tests came back as the worst infection they had seen so I hate to think if they tested me for inflammation.
Thanks to this book the heartburn has stopped and my stuff joints are not so stiff and painful, this is within one week. My plan is to stick to this way of eating possibly get to feeling good again.
Thank you for writing this book.

I'm very pleased with the content in this ebook. I have had problems with inflammation due to arthritis, aging and just living a rough life when I was young. This book was very good about explaining how to use foods to fight inflammation instead of reaching for the medicine bottle. The author broke down the foods that actually increase inflammation in the body and listed the foods that are very good at relieving it. Great resource - I'll be referring back to it from time to time!

Wow, what a great book. I have,Read other kindle books on this subject and they were like 10 pages of nonsense. This isn't the longest book ever, but it's long enough and every page consists of hard factual very useful information. This is by far the best book I have read on the subject. If you are scrolling through, trying to find a good book on inflammatory disease, you should stop now and read this one. I learned a lot and I'm so glad I downloaded it.

This book outlines the symptoms followed by in depth solutions in controlling inflammation.
A brief description of the condition is a big help, with may foods to be controlled or changed to ease the condition.
Great easy to make recipes for quick meals and snacks at the end to finish it off.
A little gem.

Victoria Lane's book opens at the Introduction, a sensible beginning it would seem.(After much searching I found the contents list, which was at least interactive), and on you carry reading all about inflammation (which seems to be the root of all diseases) in a pseudo- medical style, because although she uses a lot of medical jargon, none of is substantiated by clinical trials or journal references, not even Wikipedia.
The word inflammation is repeated a lot, to the point where it really began to get on my nerves. You then pass onto recipes of which there are very few, (especially if you are going to be following it as a diet). The recipes looked very tasty, and the Apple Ginger Muffins are very yummy, although they did contain wheat flour and sugar, both of which supposedly promote inflammation, plus the crystallized ginger is laden with sugar... So, finally (or so you think) you arrive at the conclusion. Which instead of substantiating the claims, or presenting case studies, or statistics; instead congratulates you on downloading the book, and asks you to leave a review, *IF* you enjoyed the book.
A basic book, which lacks cited scientific evidence.

I think this is a very good book on how our food either helps or hinders our body cope with inflammation. I particularly liked the way the author was not dogmatic regarding certain foods, but was prepared to give an opinion on both sides of the argument.

It is hard to believe that inflammation could be the cause of so many diseases, you need to read this book. Although there is good information in this book, I would have liked a few more recipes.

I've read all this before in other so-called nutritional guides. Badly written, incomplete recipes and some crackpot theories. Not recommended.
