See attached picture. I hope the other 3 remaining lamps don't self-destruct.
The lamp is well-made and sturdy, not cheap imitation plastic. He was impressed.
The first lamp, purchased in 2016, was exactly what I wanted. Five stars.
The second shipped 15 months later with what appears to be a manufacturing defect. That is, the screw-in connectors in the top of the middle segment or the bottom of the top segment in the lamp’s stem must be slightly off-center, for the top part leaned slightly but noticeably.
I exerted judicious pressure around the problem area and got it to stand up straight.
I guess it's a small thing, but it does seem to me that I shouldn't have to force a product to look right. Three stars (and hence the average rating of four).
Another issue with both is the one-box packaging. Each time, I spent about as much time cleaning up styrofoam pebbles as I did assembling the lamps. This could be easily addressed by shipping the shade in a separate box. Then it wouldn't require so much protection.
I'll probably pop for the third lamp. But while I can't say with authority that the quality is declining, the drop off between the purchases makes me uneasy nevertheless.
Maybe I shouldn't wait too long.
