Review

From Midwest Book Review, September 2015

Wow! What an exciting short story! This "book" starts off with Jake getting taken prisoner, beaten up and then getting rescued by Seal Teams! What a typical start for a Jake Corby Novel. The action seems to continue non-stop. I won't reveal the plot, but Jake has to save the Astronauts bacon while they are in the Orbital Space Lab! Now, figure that one out.

The writing is really good. The story flows really well and I like the sarcastic humor coming from Jake Corby. I can almost see myself saying or at least thinking some of the same stuff he says or thinks. Sometimes it would be better if Jake did just think his sarcastic thoughts instead of blurting the right out. It tends to make the bad guys pretty mad at him.

Now, you've probably noticed that I put the word "book" in quotes in my first paragraph. That's because I was very surprised at how short this "book" really was. I'm not a speed ready by any measure, but I finished the entire "book" in about two hours. Yeah, I was constantly reading with no interruptions, but I don't ever finish a book that quickly. This book is just that short; good, but short. So, if you're looking for a quick, but exciting read, this is it!

Have to catch my breath, what a ride!! I've already bought the next one and will crack it as soon as I finish this review. I literally could not put this down. Love the wise cracking, the hero is funny, smarter than your average bear, and tougher than he thinks. MORE MORE MORE!!!

I thought this was a great, fast paced, quick read. The main character, Jake Corby is witty, charming with a kind of James Bond-ish personality. He is a consultant working for the government to investigate a terrorist group that might be responsible for satellites disappearing. Jake gets into some major trouble while outside their compound.

The satellites that are missing literally disappear and it is imperative to find out who is responsible, how they are executing the disappearances and where they are located.

If that is not enough excitement, the same group is responsible for a space station accident and it is a race against time to save the astronauts.

Jake Corby has real magnetism as a protagonist! I thoroughly enjoyed The Antiterrorist. If you want to find out more about Al Macy check out https://www.facebook.com/AlMacyAuthor

Disclaimer: I received The Antiterrorist at no charge in exchange for an honest review, although Mr. Macy did send me an email that stated the review was not necessary. Because of the release from my review duty I postponed reading The Antiterrorist until just a few hours ago.

I know think that Mr. Macy had enough confidence in his writing to say the review was not required fully knowing I would not be able to resist writing one (he is obviously psychic, as he does not know me). I never give details in a book review so don't look for what the book is about in this one. What I will say though is that there was only one thing I did not like about this book-I wish it had been longer, say 600 pages or so, lol. The story is fast-paced, attention-grabbing and virtually error free from the very beginning and never loses it's power. While the genre is thriller/suspense there are tid-bits of humor interspersed that make a good book great for me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I was surprised this was a longish story rather than a full-length book (probably I was not paying attention) so I was left wanting more. But that's not a bad thing, not at all. I did like all the characters, even the ones Jake vanquished, and hope one or two are resuscitated and reprised—like Twiggy. Good read and recommended.

This is a fantastic, easily read prequel to Contact Us .
Mary, Jake's wife, is alive and Obama is president.
The action is grabbing as much as the humour is inviting!
If you haven't read Contact Us I highly suggest you do after reading The Anti terrorist.
You won't be disappointed !

The Author said he liked writing this book and I certainly enjoyed reading it. It was a quick read and certainly waiting for an appointment much easier. story progresses from being captured and held somewhere to the White House and into Outer Space to a satisfactory conclusion. I think I might like to read more stories about the same character. I received a free copy of to review.

Thanks a lot, Al! I was late for work and late logging in after lunch because this book is so hard to stop reading. Non-stop action, characters you care about , well-researched and believable science, and a compelling story line. All told with a brilliant and outrageous sense of humor. Sorry to see this story end. Thank you.
