It's an interesting book. Margot, the main character has recently lost everyone she was close to, her parents, her husband, and especially , her beloved brother. In her loneliness she has turned to the bottle for comfort.
She answers a knock at her door and sees the mysterious Jake for the first time. He says her brother told him to come to her if he needed help. Margo rents him a room in memory of her brother and thus begins a tangled, twisty story which involves just about everyone she knows in a strange and surprising way. Even though they are busy with a lot of problems, Margot and Jake still have time for some intense passion.
I enjoyed it and am looking forward to book number two.
The book is a quick read as it flows well and keeps you guessing as to character motivations and secrets as you learn more about each one. The book is well written and well edited.
Anxiety is a full-length novel that was originally released in episodic fashion. By the title, I thought it was 6 distinct short stories that dealt with the topic of anxiety, but no, it is one novel. It flows really seamlessly, actually. I couldn't detect where the original breaks were.
The romance scenes border on the line between R and, maybe, NC17, for me anyway, and a little more than I like to see in print. However it is nowhere near as graphic as the pornographic trash being peddled as so-called "sexy romance". Still, definitely not one for the kiddies.
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
This is a great story. I thought the characters were three dimensional and realistic with what they had to deal with in life and during the story.
The book was well written and the pacing is fantastic. The focus was mainly on Jake and Margot but a couple of characters were thrown in to add suspense and lots of plot twists. I had no idea where the story was going, and that was what I loved about it. I felt I was on a crazy roller coaster ride.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes their thrillers with some hot sex scenes.
I enjoyed it very much, even though it was different from the books I usually read.
I absolutely recommend this book to anyone who likes Paranormal Romantic Suspense.
