I am finally going to order the DVD, as I haven't seen the film yet. The location of the filming, Skowhegan, Maine, is a central Maine town that fell on hard times years ago, yet continues to survive. The "Empire Grill" was created for the film from an old corner general store owned by a little man named Peter Debe. Last year I was up home, the "Empire Grill" was hanging on. Guess I've got to eat there sometime.

I also visited Skowhegan about a year ago and had to stop in the empire grill. The food was good and the people working there were nice. I plan to stop in again later this year and Ill let you know if its still there. The grill not the town. I have to admit that I likeed the town very much.
