I have used the leather punch to make an additional belt buckle hole. It worked like a charm. I learned that the hole should be punched from the inside surface of the belt, not the side facing out.

Works okay, but it's cumbersome. Since I've already bought this (based on the other glowing reviews!) I'll keep using it for occasional use. I've used this primarily for small holes in shoe straps. If I needed to use it regularly, I'd just toss it and get a different style.

In hindsight, I should have chosen a pliers-style hole punch. As compared to the pliers-style I've had before, this requires more work to change the pieces, requires more work/pressure on my part, and the little pieces of leather get stuck in the "blade" portion. In a pliers-style, you can just rotate the wheel to change between sizes, whereas with this you need to manually take the blades/cutting piece on/off the handle. Also, the pliers style utilizes a lever-force so that you can easily cut through similar to using scissors, while with this you need to place the leather item on a firm/non-cut through surface, and either twist the handle through the leather or use a hammer/similar object to strike the handle to cut through the leather. Then, you spend time getting the little pieces out of the instrument.

Hope that helps
Jackie

I received this product in the mail today and have already used it on two belts. I don't know about more heavy-duty items, but for run-of-the-mill leather belts it is very economical. The seller Anytime Tools is prompt and great as well. The packaging also suggests use for rubber, plastic, fiber, and felt. Very useful little tool.

This little piece of punch set just makes life easier! On watchbands, belts and alike it does the job perfectly through its well molded stainless steel parts.
Just a quick note: do the punching from internal (non-decorative) part of whatever you'd like to adjust (mind the cone form of the punches.

The hole punch worked great: just screw on right size tip and with one hit of the hammer on the back of the tool the hole was made in my leather belt. Super prize and certainly great for people who don't have much strength squeezing with their hands.

This is a great punch! Now I'm able to resize belts on my own and there are six punch heads to choose from. Great product!

I was hoping to punch holes in mylar (thick transparent film), but the tool is not sharp enough to go through. I know that is not what it was designed for, so not their fault.

I used this on 2 belts just after opening the package. It works. You will need to tap it from a hammer. I did not have hammer handy, so I used the back of the screwdriver. I also made a hole for one of my watches with the smallest punch. It just takes a few taps on the back and the hole is neat. It is of fairly good quality, and is a keeper. Tip: Punch from the back of the belt instead of the front.
