While it was critically acclaimed by the critics, I was not impressed with the movie overall. I nearly stopped it about an hour into the film but had been told it was such a great movie. I give it credit for exploring the psychological aspects of the Vietnam War and the sense of futility of the troops on the ground. But that is all I give it. Now if I could just get the 2.5 hours of my life back.
