To mount the switches I followed the directions and drilled the first mounting hole. Then I marked and removed the cutout. You have to do this first or otherwise you can't test fit the housing like the directions say. I made the cutout hole a little bigger on the top to make some extra room for the switch bodies. After that I followed the instructions to make and drill the other three holes. The mounting pins worked ok even though I had my doubts at first.
The main unit mounted just as the instructions said. It is a very secure mounting. The main power cables were the perfect length to run across the top of the firewall and connect to the battery. I used the M9 fuse slot (rear seat heater) which is unused in my jeep. Every thing works perfectly.
I am actually very impressed with the quality of the unit and thought that went into the design. And at this price point, I think it's a great value.
Very happy with this product... can’t compare to other products out there but quality seems very good. I was nervous about cutting into the pillar panel but as others mentioned the template is great and went without a hitch.
I would consider myself a real novice when it comes to auto work and very rarely look under the hood but I found the installation easy enough. The cables look to be high quality including the wire loom and on my 2016 there is unused factory hole in the firewall so cable routing was very easy, did not come up short on length or have to deal with excessive cable slack.
I had a very minor issue with a couple of the switches and customer support was very quick to respond and resolve.
The install was pretty easy, and my only gripe is the choice of buttons. I'd like to see a front locker, rear locker, and air compressor rockers. Instead, they ship with some kindergarten stuff, like yeti and zombie rockers. Of course, you may have these items to turn on (can't imagine what they would be), but I own a Jeep, and I have lockers and compressors that need to be turned on/off with the extra switches.
A side note on alternative install using the Rugged Ridge A-pillar switch pod: if you have a 2012 JKU, don't do it. I bought me one, and wasted my time of putting it on and taking it off because the fit is poor. I left the corresponding review for that product and wrote off the $30 loss.
Bottom line: use what came in this kit, and don't waste the time and money on alternative installs if you have a 2012 JKU (I can't speak for other model years). It actually looks pretty decent.
It looks awesome and i got all my lights hooked up now. its a super clean install for everything i used flexible wire casing so unless you know what your looking for you cant even tell its there and the lights are all wired verry neatly thanks to it!! I really like it!!!

The junction box that mounts under the hood doesn't seal water tight so if you do any wheeling you'll want to get creative and seal it up somehow.
Overall, the end result outshined these minor complaints so I still give it 5 stars.
