Some of the stuff from the other 3 discs is also on the BluRay that comes with the set. And the BluRay audio sounds excellent. While listening to the album on there, you get the option to show visuals for each song, and it shows a little screen saver thingie that is different for each one, but it’s nothing really to write home about.
But other than that, everything else makes this set worth every dollar. I’m assuming most of you reading this probably cannot save up enough to afford “Locked N’ Loaded: The Big F’n Box” since it is $1,000, but if you are a GN’R fan and can find the patience (pun intended) to save up $125 to get this one, then I cannot recommend it enough. And this is coming from somebody who normally wouldn’t save up that much money to get one of these “Super Deluxe” box sets of certain albums.
Top international reviews
La dimensione del box equivale a quella di un vinile, per intenderci, e questo permette di apprezzare l'altissima qualità delle fotografie che compongono il bellissimo libro di circa 100 pagine incluso all'interno. Completano la dotazione:
1) 5 splendide litografie (splendide nella qualità di stampa, un po' meno nella carta, che risulta fin troppo sottile) raffiguranti i membri della band;
2) una litografia più grande (e leggermente più spessa) che riporta il disegno della cover originale di Robert Williams (purtroppo piegata in due a causa delle dimensioni, ma non c'era altro modo);
3) un mega poster;
4) tatuaggi trasferibili (mah... avrei preferito dei semplici adesivi);
5) riproduzioni di tre biglietti e una locandina.
Tutto questo vale i 152 euro al lancio? Ni...
The inner sleeves are covered inside with plastic so that the albums are not in contact with coarse material and there's a digital download for cd quality files that include a second disc of bonus tracks with some live material, very acceptable considering a lot of digital downloads included are just mp3s.
The master seems to be a digital one and that's usually not preferable but since this album was probably digitally mastered since it came out i would say this could be the best edition so far with the high res masters.
In general if you get a good deal on this i would recommend it since the package is very nice with the double cover (gatefold on the original cover and the other one as a sleeve) and the materials feel very premium like. If they used the cleanliest of environments when they pressed the copies this could probably be a fault-proof release.
It's one of the most iconic albums ever.
Original artwork included altough it seems one reviewer hasn't yet found it :)
AND a spinning hologram... again seemingly hiding from one reviewer
