This computer is pretty much perfect. It's light, it's sleek. Its fast. It's actually made me enjoy using a computer again.
I got the midnight color and honestly, fingerprints aren't any worse with this color vs any other color. Yes, they are present, but a quick wipe erases them. And then you've got the best looking computer in the coffee shop. Looking at you, you young professional at the coffee shop. Looking so cool.
If you've read any reviews on these computers you'll hear all of them conclude with this: If you're like 90% of people and use their computer for normal things like checking email, writing, using regular apps, basic movie / music editing. Then this is the best computer for you. Why look anywhere else? The screen is huge. The laptop is light. It looks legit. The keyboard is great. The speakers are reasonable. The FaceTime camera is great.
If you're life is editing movies then you probably already know that this M2 processor will do the job for you, but it'll come at a cost. The MacBook Air m2 processor is meant for efficiency, but it's not going to export as fast as a pro m2. In saying that..this processor is so much faster than anything in the past 5 years that even if you're used to having a pro computer, and its a few years old, you'll still find yourself with a very capable machine.
I was between this and an iPadPro. I went with this because until apple gets its act together an iPad is still an iPad. Anybody who tells you they use it for their daily driver has done a lot work to learn how to navigate the iPad OS to make it work like a MacBook. If you want something cool to look at pictures, browse the internet, do some writing, maybe some call of duty mobile - then get an iPad. If you want a computer. Get a MacBook Air. If you're a heavy gamer, or do a ton of video editing (like your whole workflow) Then get a MacBook Pro 14 air 16 inch. They are incredible, but not something most people will need. For what it's worth, I do video editing with this M2 machine and for me it works great. I don't mind waiting an extra 10min on an hour long project to export. The experience while I edit is still super smooth, I just need to wait a bit once I'm done to view my finished product.
To conclude. If you're 90% of the world. Just get the MacBook Air. If you can - get the 512gb hard drive. They're faster than their 256gb base counterpart. However, if you're upgrading both your hard driver AND the ram. I think I would just go for a 14inch MacBook Pro. The price difference isn't too much and that 120hz refresh rate on the 14inch pros is noice. But, coming from somebody who notices that sort of stuff, you won't miss the refresh rate on the air. Like you would between an iPad Air vs iPad Pro.

Perfect Daily Driver with a few grips
The Macbook 15 is one of the best 15-inch laptops out there for basic work productivity. Those who prefer a bigger screen for casual tasks will absolutely love this device. I use it as my daily driver for checking emails, researching the net, creating formal documents, paying bills online etc, mainly using it in front of my TV sitting in my recliner. Now for the heavy lifting, I also own a System76 device for coding and video editing in my office. The laptop is used often in my household by others who, for the most part, is very happy with it, but the ones who are used to Windows had a little trouble on some task since there is a bit of a learning curve for first-time macOS users. Since there is literally no upgrade path for the MacBook Air after purchase, unlike some Windows laptops, I went with 16 GB of ram just to future-proof my investment, but the majority of folks are fine with just 8 GB for common tasks. I also signed up for the Apple Care protection plan because accidents do happen.DESIGN: The device itself is lightweight, elegant, thin and sleek, but is definitely a fingerprint magnet.PORTS: Most people like the Magsafe, but when you have the laptop on your lap it disconnects too easily, causing the brightness on display to dim and just annoys me (the magnet should be stronger). With only two USB-C ports, I have to use an adapter and/or hub to use my many older USB-A drives. Luckly it does still have a analog headphone jack.KEYBOARD AND TRACKPAD: Hands down the best of any laptop in this market. The haptic feedback on the track-pad is excellent, and touch sensitivity is good as well. Addition features on the macOS when it comes to using gesture-based navigation, for example. A three-finger swipe up to show all of your open windows or a three-finger swipe left or right to change spaces. The keyboard has the perfect key travel in this form factor, and a very good typing experience in general.DISPLAY: Is top-notch with it's 2880x1864 resolution with a pixel density of 224 pixels per inch and the P3 color gamut for color accuracy.PERFORMANCE: The M2 CPU is more than enough for web browsing, productivity apps, and photo editing. Navigating between apps and web browser is a speedy experience.BATTERY LIFE: Still one of the best in biz with me easily getting over 8 hours.Overall, if you are a fan of the Apple ecosystem and looking for a device that has a great display, impressive performance, and best-in-class battery life, then this would be a top contender to consider. I still love this device despite the gripes I have with it.
