I’ve had smart battery cases from Apple before but this one I genuinely like. They changed the top part of the case that you’re supposed to fold to put the phone in. Before it was just flimsy silicone that would pop of the phone if it were in a pocket too long, this ones grip is really strong and does not pop off which I like. For sure it is bulky but I’m getting use to the heft of it now. The case lasts all day for me and when I’m ending my day my phone is at a 100% and I do a lot on my phone, calls, work, texting and media all day but it hangs in there well. Another thing too if you’re a one hander with holding phones and use your pinky to support the case from the bottom it is very comfortable to hold and the charging port is flushed with the phone. And I’m saying this because I know some cases that have cutouts for ports kind of dig in your pinky if you hold it that way.

Cannot get support

I ordered this item and there is a little manufacture bubble in the left side of the case. I came on amazon for support, and it said I must contact the manufacturer (apple) for support. When I did so, they said I have to contact Amazon for support. I HATE getting stuck in these little he-said she-said loops where I can't get help with an item that was not only super expensive but has a cosmetic issue out of the box.

Love the extra juice it provides and the protection it offers but like others have said it doesn’t hold up long. After a week I’ve noticed a crack in the corner of it where it’s splitting and for $130 I expect a high quality Apple product that will last a long time at least like the phones.

This battery case is wonderful when it works. Approximately 1 out of 10 times when you pull the phone with the case on it off of the charger, it will use the phones built in battery instead of using the battery in the case. Thankfully, it works as designed most of the time, but 10% of the time when it doesn’t work is extremely annoying. I now have to check each time I pull the phone off the charger to see which battery is the one draining. This is probably a software bug that Apple needs to address.

Ok why do they call this a smart battery? When it just keeps charging your phone constantly from the second you put it on. I thought it would automatically turn on and charge my iPhone once it detected the battery was low. But no it’s the opposite. I don’t even use it cause it just pisses me off and I don’t trust that it will help extend the life of the battery 🔋

I had a smartcase for the iphone 7 and I LOVED it. It worked all the way until I retired the phone to get an iPhone 11. I bought this case hoping it would be the same success story but instead it is terrible. The smartcase won't charge with the iPhone. I have to separately charge the case and the phone and only that way, will I have them both fully charged. It works but it's inconvenient because in many cases I just have one charger or one outlet.

I think this case was launched way too soon without all the bugs being fixed.
