I ordered these WIRE ear buds for the price because I didn't want to spend $200 or more on a pair of air pods that I was only going to use on occasion. I figured no problem, they were an apple product (although they don't make them anymore) and have never had a problem with an apple product before so why not. They arrived the next day and what a disappointment when only the left ear worked. I checked to make sure everything was set up correctly on my iPhone 13 (which it was) and then called Apple support. The women I spoke with was very nice and explained that this product (not meaning only on Amazon) is probably older and the wires may have degraded, she suggested I return them and reorder and try again. They were sent back this morning and I'm expecting my new one to come today. I'm really hoping this was a fluke because I'm looking forward to using them. I also wish these companies would realize not EVERYONE has a need to have everything wireless.

New ear pods arrived today and work great! Thanks for the fast service.

First of all, I love these. I don't love that they die.

Ordering my tenth and 11th genuine apple pair this weekend because they stop fully functioning after a fairly short while. This last pair barely lasted 2 months. Have tried, with no helpful results, contacting apple- it's a known (software I believe) problem, with no solution that I can find, per you tube.

These are great headpones, save for dying all the time, did not have any trouble with the model that was prior to this apparently vulnerable lightning cable.

When the control toggle works and the microphone (they seems to consistently "die" at the same time together- right after--- out of the blue your iphone asks you if the lightning cable is connected to headphones--- this is the death message---time to find new spare pair) these are the best headphones- not beatz level for sure, but really good.

Great for outdoors because you can perfectly hear the ambient sounds so you can still use your ears to keep yourself safe.

Great for music, podcasts and talking on the phone.
Even after the control toggle fails and you can no longer adjust the volume or pause or answer the phone from the cord,- or be heard without significant interference on a phone call----you can still use them to listen to audible or spotify or whatever.

I get that Apple wants everyone to switch to the airpods-- but I never will. I will switch to Android when I can no longer have wired headphones on apple even though I love apple. I value being able to choose wired headphones. I will quit listening to stuff on my phone, whatever it is when I am no longer able to use wired headphones of any kind.

So these are great headphones that consistently malfunction which sucks.

This absolutely seemed to be authentic in the original sealed packaging and worked fine for listening and controlling music playback on my iPhone 12 without issue. I will however state that I have not yet tested using them for answering calls, so I can't speak to that. Seemed like just what I needed at a good price.

I guess in an attempt to make more money, or to make the iphone seem less expensive, these basic Apple wired ear buds no longer come with the purchase of a new Apple iPhone.

They work just the same. Nice fit, good sound, doesn’t bother neighboring coworkers.

I am annoyed they don’t come with the iPhone anymore. Despite the convenience air buds provide, I still prefer the wired buds when working at my desk (and i know won’t misplace them. Lol.)

Apple everything is expensive, they keep phasing out old phones after a year or two so you can spend thousands more. And now more on accessories that used to come with new iPhones. It’s whatever.

companies like apple have corporate meetings to figure ways to increase profits by inventing new ways to gouge money from existing and new customers. there is absolutely no justification for fixing that which was never broken (standard earbud and charging inputs) in order to force their customers to shell out for plugs that no longer accommodate what has been industry standard for decades. the earbuds work fine. this is about greed and arrogance.
