Apple Certified 7 ft. Lightning (8 pin) Sync and Data Cable
Update: I actually found a VERY good, longer cable. It is 7ft long (longer than any Apple cable). It is not "perfect" if you have like an Otterbox case, but the cable is actually more durable than the Apple brand one, because the company made it thicker to carry the charge better and handle wear and tear. I recommend this one even more. Very cool. And it is certified by Apple as well.
Get this and you will be happy and you will save money and your battery in the long run.
Recommend this for everyone who has a Idevice.
Side bar: As a former physics teacher who made a point to teach this technique, you know how they say unplug by grasping the plug and never yank the cord? Well I pay attention, because as a child I vividly remember my mother yanking a 120V cord from the socket and caused the wires to short. A huge spark erupted causing her a painful electrical blistering burn under her wedding band. I learned right then not necessarily to follow every thing my sainted mother did. She continued in this habit for the rest of her life without incident. I recently observed a trained respected electrician do the same thing, yank the electrical cable out of the wall socket by the cable, cringe. I suppose in the very early days of post and knob wiring and so on that this may have been taught as the safest way to unplug; but in these modern times, please get in the habit of grasping the plug connector and use no more force than necessary to detach.
If you find this review at ALL helpful, please click "yes." :)
[edit to downgrade to one star. Both my lightning cables have burned a power contact on one side; it's black and charred rather than copper colored. iPhone 5c. Now it charges intermittently, can't get a good contact, have to fiddle and flip the connector over, sometimes it quits mid-charge and I end up with a dead phone. I've heard of other cases of burned power contacts with Lightning cables, too. Just wow. After 40 years of being an Apple cultist, the thrill is gone. If they want to justify their closed ecology, it has to work perfectly. This does not. Fail. They destroyed backward compatibility and the iphone dock standard for this?? Ugh.]
