Easy, but wish it was easier

I bought this for my grandmom. Seem to work ok. I never owned one myself, but Ive seen other people with them and they looked cool and useful.

My only problem was that it didnt seem to fold up as easy as I expected. Was like trial and error getting it into a positon that was able to properly support the iPad in either angled position it offers.

It also does not snap on via the magnet as easily as Id epect. you have to make sure it is in the right positon, facing the right way. Otherwise, it either doesnt snap on right, or it doesnt snap on at all.

The seal itself seems to be good overrall, event with a thing screen protector on (not tempered glass).

Also, works very nicely with the Lovit case that was intended to work with this snap on cover.

In comparison to the snart case I own for my iPad Air....The iPad Air model works much easier for getting it folded into place. It also snaps on much easier, without much effort at all. The only problem is it doesnt work well with tempered glass, nor does it seal properly. Just thoguht I would throw that extra info in there.

But overall, seems to be the best option if you want a cover that can easily and quickly be taken off and put back on.

KNOCK OFF Counterfeit copy. Will not put ipad to sleep or stand up

Magnets will not put ipad to sleep.
Tried to load photos of real box and the counterefeit copy next to it, but Amazon is preventing me from uploading it
I guess to protect their BOGUS products from being called out.
I saved the box from my original smart cover purchased directly from apple store.
Side by side the boxes looked close
But I Noticed the wrong size barcode and missing apple logo from this knock off, also the designed in California made in China
Notice was missing from box, and on the cover itself was wrong font.
This is why I quit buying from ebay,because of cheap knock offs,now Amazin has stooped to selling imitations.
Dont waste your money and time.
Will not stand up, falls over everytime.

Although I just got it, I'm writing a review, so take that for what it's worth. The product is either a genuine Apple product, or the counterfieters have really outdone themselves. It fits perfectly, and turns the iPad on and off, just like it's supposed to. As a bonus, if you happen to have the Pelican case for an iPad and keyboard, it fits just fine without having to take it off or even readjust it. Considering it cost about 30% of the new price, I think it's a bargain. My only gripe is that for some inexplicable reason it took about a week and a half to arrive. Whatever, it's here now and it works just fine.

I give this item 2 stars because it didn't come in an Apple box as it's shown in the pictures. It came in a bubble plastic bag instead. The upper part of the hinge has a small scratch. Also, the hinge has many tiny signs of being used.

It seems to be originally made by Apple just as advertised. It fits my Ipad 4 great and works perfectly. The cover locks the Ipad when closed, and unlocks when open.

Had it come in the original packaging and been brand new, I would've given it 5 stars.

Now I'm gonna let the seller know that the cover seemed used. I'll update my review once I hear back from her/him.

The cover works great on my 4th gen iPad. Turns on my iPad when I open it and shuts it off when I close it. It's nice knowing that my iPad has a little protection from the screen. You can't expect that this will protect against everything, it's not an Otterbox. But it doesn't add to the size of the iPad and give me a little piece of mind that if someone puts something down on top of it when it's sitting on my coffee table, I don't have to worry about the screen scratching. Or if I throw it in my messenger bag with a few other item, it'll be okay. I haven't tried the stand portion, I don't find that be a comfortable way to have the iPad, especially when I'm sitting on my couch which is where I usually have it. The hinges have held on great and haven't caused any issues so far.

It's a wonderful way to protect the front of my iPad from damage! It's sorta expensive but hey, it's packed with these flat magnets or some heavy, hard material anyway, that folds into a nice stand for when I want to read, or lay my iPad down for a good keyboard platform. It starts off a little stiff but gets more pliable within the first couple months. After a couple years it wears out, disintegrates entirely pretty much. But that's to be expected of nearly any physical object with a lot of human contact.
